Currently a 2001 Cadillac Catera (identical to the Opel Omega B) auctioned with LS7-V8. And this is a real exotic in two ways. On the one hand, the Catera was only built relatively short in the period from 1996 to 2001, on the other hand, an LS7-V8 engine was never under the hood. But this inconspicuous copy has one on board. The vehicle is a copy from 2001 that was built by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and has received a long list of goodies. Lingenfelter first removed the factory-fitted 3,0-liter V6 (L81) and the tired 4-speed automatic (4L30-E) and replaced them with a 5,7-liter LS6 V8 and Tremec T56 manual transmission. The setup came with a two-part LPE drive shaft and a 3,46: 1 limited slip differential from the Pontiac GTO of the fifth generation to the Catera.

now with 7,0 liter LS7-V8

Some time later, however, the LS6 flew out again. Then a 7,0 liter LS7-V8 with Corvette C5R block, LS6 heads and a new air intake system was installed. Coupled to a special 2,5 inch (6,35 cm) exhaust system, the soundscape is unmistakably V8 and no comparison to the original V6. By the way, the suspension is based on Eibach lowering springs and Steinmetz pendulum rods and there were also a few changes inside. For example, using a Bose sound system or a special Momo steering wheel without an airbag. There was also a new brake system with red calipers for a deceleration appropriate to the species. The V-Spec emblems all around, the 17-inch rims with Michelin tires and the new radiator grille with light grille allow a few conclusions to be drawn about the V8, as so-called Sleeper let’s let him go anyway. The Cadillac Catera can be bought on Bring A Trailer and the auction ends on Monday, July 27th.
