Fisker Inc.

As of 08.2020, Fisker Inc. is a new start-up from designer Henrik Fisker. He plans to go into production with the Fisker Ocean in 2022. To this end, the company raised around 50 million dollars in a financing round for the electrically powered SUV “Fisker Ocean”. The company is the successor to Fisker Automotive, which was bought by the Wanxiang Group in 2015 and has been known as Karma Automotive ever since. Fisker Inc. has launched the Ocean E-SUV on the US market until 2022. The reactions to the vehicle were very positive from the start. Until now, Fisker was known as the car designer for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Aston Martin DB9 and the elegant BMW Z8. The former start-up Fisker Automotive had already built the semi-electric premium car Fisker Karma in 2011 and thus had experience with an electric drive. However, due to various production difficulties, the company had to file for bankruptcy in 2013 and was then sold to Wanxiang. The Fisker Ocean is supposed to enable better success. Fisker Inc. attaches great importance to sustainability in the SUV and the ocean should have a range of around 480 kilometers. It is also to be sold in Europe.
