Do you know the story about Tom Hanks and the Polski-Fiat 126p? To brief you on the state of affairs: Tom Hanks ("Forrest Gump", "Cast Away") had published some pictures on his Twitter account with different Fiat 126p at the end of last year and kept joking “Finally my new car” etc. The various postings were made in Budapest during the shooting of the film “Inferno”. The Polish fans of Hanks then decided to simply give the world star such a cult car. A short time later the car was completely restored and the Polish team from Carlex Design was of course responsible for the interior. As expected, the end result is absolutely phenomenal and the little 126, with the surname "Maluszek - Maluch“It definitely looks better than it did 43 years ago when it rolled off the line.

In the interior, the design is partly based on the keys of a typewriter. A hobby of Tom Hanks is to write with the typewriter and of course that offered. But it was important not to change the character of the vehicle and still create something unique. That is certainly achieved! A highlight is also idea with a lot of accents to remember the Polish city of Bielska-Białej. There the whole project took its course. A few details about the interior: The back of the passenger seat has a small pocket on it that reads “Bielska-Białej for Tom Hanks”. The driver's seat, on the other hand, has a bag marked “126p”. The entire interior is covered with new leather and especially the yellow / black color scheme couldn't be better.
The newly designed speedometer, which also has a "Bielska-Białej for Tom Hanks“Got lettering. It is also completely wrapped in leather and has a chic seam. By the way, the mileage is "zero" which probably corresponds to the condition of the vehicle. Other changes include a headliner completely covered with leather, a fully lined footwell and even the door locking pins have a new design with Carlex initials. And as already mentioned, the outside of the vehicle has also been completely restored and the team from was responsible for it BB Oldtime Garage, They have broken down the 126p to the last detail and built a completely new mechanics, painted it inside and out and also completely renewed the electronics.
The restoration on the outside alone took over two months of work and is crowned by small details such as the “Bielska-Białej for Tom Hanks - One of One” logo. The entire body, including the steel rims, was painted in a simple glossy white and everything looks exactly as if the 126p had just rolled off the production line, just better! Tom Hanks gets the vehicle delivered to the USA and has already announced that he will support the Bielsko Children's Clinic as a thank you. If we get more information about the 126p, there will of course, as always, be an update for this report.
