Current Ford Focus ST from Mountune Tuning is stronger than the last Ford Focus RS!

The fourth generation of the Ford Focus will have to do without a potent RS version, as ever stricter emissions regulations are increasingly preventing sporty models from being brought onto the market without electrification. As much as Ford enthusiasts want a new Focus RS, the group is probably planning no new edition of the already legendary model. From our point of view, however, a hybrid Ford Focus RS would also be a weapon against the competition from Ingolstadt or Wolfsburg, but the company with the blue oval is unfortunately going a different way, and at most leaves it at that Focus ST, but with 280 PS also stands relatively well in the feed. But that is of course for some enthusiasts nicht genug, which is why the British tuning company Mountune has now presented its latest upgrade package for the Focus ST, which is available for both the hatchback version and the station wagon. We are now introducing you to these vehicles in more detail.

Sports optics ensure understatement

The increase in performance is not associated with an optical tuning, so that, at least in the case of the combi called the tournament, you get an absolute Sleeper that you can't see its power. Because there is only a slightly larger concern roof spoiler and send them ST rims that the Focus from Mountune differs from a normal Ford compact car with much lower power. In any case, from our point of view, it is worth investing in the upgrade package, which can also be controlled via the app from the mobile phone, as it only costs 574,17 British pounds, which corresponds to around 677 euros, and thus not a big hole in the Household budget tears. So it should be a piece of cake to give your performance-enhanced sweetheart a couple of fancy alloy wheels or a body kit, if you don't want to leave it with the standard look.

The Mountune tuning kit releases 365 hp.

As we have already mentioned, with the British upgrade, the Focus ST does more than the RS model of its predecessor. Expressed in bare numbers, that is 365 PS to 355 hp. The increase in performance compared to the conventional Focus ST of the fourth generation is a whopping 85 PS and 140 Newtonmeter maximum torque. After installing the Mountune kit, this rises to a great extent 560 Newton meter and makes the front tires smoke. No technical changes were made to the vehicle, so the front-wheel drive remains, which is likely to struggle with performance. Unfortunately, we have no information on the performance, but if the vehicle brings the immense performance to the asphalt, there is hardly a compact sports car that can keep up with the modified Focus ST.

Our Conclusion to the Mountune tuning kit for the current Focus ST:

An impressive motor remapping that can be conveniently controlled via the app on the smartphone. Also for owners of other sports models from Ford, such as the Fiesta ST or the Puma ST, kits from the British tuning company are available to turn the performance of these models up a notch. So every Ford fan can create a sleeper out of his sweetheart, which can compete with much more expensive cars on the highway.
