2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition & Ford GT Studio Collection!

Ford Performance has introduced two new special editions of the Ford GT super sports car: the Ford GT Heritage Edition and the Ford GT Studio Collection. The Heritage Edition was inspired by the original model's first endurance victory at the 24 Daytona 1966-hour race. The Studio Collection design package offers additional exclusivity. The announcement of these two new variants of the Ford GT was the highlight of Petersen Car Week 2020, which started last Wednesday on the YouTube channel of the Petersen Automotive Museum, located on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

Heritage Edition & Studio Collection

The new Heritage Edition of the Ford GT supercar family pays homage to the winners of the 24 Daytona 1966 Hour Continental, where Ford achieved the first 24-hour endurance victory in the company's history. The GT40 MK II were driven by the driver pairings Bruce McLaren / Chris Amon, Dan Gurney / Jerry Grant as well as Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby. It's been a magical season for Miles / Ruby. A little later, your vehicle also won the Le Mans 24 Hours. Inspired by the white, black and red paintwork of the Ford GT40 MK II racing car from 1966, the new Ford GT Heritage Edition is presented in frost white with high-contrast carbon fiber surfaces and asymmetrical accents in the color racing red. Ford graphics on the lower rear fairing and 20-inch forged Heritage alloy wheels paired with red painted Brembo monoblock brake calipers round off the striking appearance. Inside, the vehicle features black Alcantara suede for the dashboard and parts of the steering wheel, while red anodized paddles behind the steering wheel and red suede performance seats underline the elegant look.

For customers who are interested in an even more eye-catching look, an optional Heritage Upgrade Package offers 20-inch carbon wheels with a glossy red painted interior accent, while the black-painted monoblock brake callipers have Brembo lettering in red. "For the Heritage Edition, the Ford Performance Team delved deeper into the racing history of the Ford GT and designed a limited edition model that stylistically pays tribute to the 55th anniversary of the 24-hour endurance race in Daytona / Florida at the Daytona International Speedway, which a little later also contributed to our success at Le Mans, ”says Mike Severson, Ford GT Program Manager. Severson continues: “Miles and Ruby were in front for almost every lap of the 24-hour race and beat the competition by lengths. It was the first time anyone threatened Ferrari's dominance in this racing class, which was also a turning point in the Ford GT racing program ”.

Ford GT Studio Collection design package

The design package of the Ford GT Studio Collection with customizable colors highlights important styling elements - including the functional cooling ducts that help the Ford GT (model year 2021) to play its 660 hp in all situations. The unique design package was created as part of a cooperation between Ford Performance and the Ford GT manufacturer Multimatic. "The combination of racing stripes and color accents evokes emotion and draws the eye to some of the most prominent features of the Ford GT," explains Garen Nicoghosian, Head of Design at Multimatic. "Other optical signature functions such as those on the headlights provide visual anchors".

Ford GT production will end in 2022

The deliveries of the vehicles of the model year 2021 will begin in early 2021, the Ford GT production will expire in 2022.
