Bad part: 2008 Ford Mustang GT "Inspired by Eleanor"!

For die-hard fans of the Ford Mustang, the pony car has only been reborn since the fifth generation from the mid-2000s. In contrast to the fourth and third generation series, the Mustang MK5 has its design roots with the retro-modern appearance, which has established itself not only in the USA but also worldwide, get back. It was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2004 and was clearly inspired by models from the late 1960s. Unfortunately it was then no official Version intended for Europe, so that only a few vehicles came to Europe and Germany via importers. And the MK5 was not made by Ford, but by AutoAlliance International in Flat Rock. It was based on an extensively modified DEW98 platform from the Lincoln LS (the Jaguar S-Type and Ford Thunderbird were also on it) the one that got the designation D2C.

It all started with the 157 kW (213 PS) four-liter V6 and the GT model was a 224 kW (305 PS) more powerful 4,6 liter V8 available. It was shifted either with a five-speed manual gearbox or with a five-speed automatic. The highlight of the series was of course the Shelby GT500. It was presented at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2006 and featured a supercharged 5,4 liter V8 engine with 500 horsepower. And with the MK5, the Shelby GT / H (The “H” in the name stands for the car rental company Hertz) reissued. It had a special front section and was limited to 500 copies. Like the earlier models, the body was painted black and had gold stripes. Even quick-release fasteners with cotter pins to quickly open the bonnet were installed at the factory. The story of the MK5 Mustang! And now for this copy.

Only 60 seconds left - homage!

This is a stunning 2008 Mustang GT modeled after the original Eleanor from the movie “Only 60 seconds left" was built. It is currently being auctioned by Hemmings and is really unique. It is painted in Dark Grey and beyond are matt black stripes to see. Even one Sidepipe sport exhaust system and additional lights are built in front. There was further tinted windows, a cats stairs on the rear window, one Super snake hood and an aggressive one Cervini front bumper. But that's not all. The unique piece also has one Aluminum grille above and below, darkened Halo headlights, air openings (Window scoops) on the small side windows and one Shelby rear spoiler with it. And even that rear apron is completely new, what also for that LED taillights applies.

20 inch wheelset and a new chassis

Our personal highlight, however, are the factory ones Wheel archthat are seamlessly integrated into the body and only really come into their own with the tuning. There was also one that was painted to match Wheel set in 20 inches and a new one Suspension. Yes, more on that later. Let's take a look in the cabin first. Here you can see an original leather interior with a factory aluminum decor. However, one is Raxium audio system built in (with HD radio, SiriusXM, iPod connection, Bluetooth and navigation system) the above Boston Acoustics speakers the cabin is filled with sound. By the way, the pony car is switched using Hurst short throw shifter. And under the hood? It's (unfortunately) a little less sensational. The factory 4,6-liter V8 with 305 hp received one Roush M90 compressor, the now existing 435 PS and 542 NM are still a bit poor in view of the huge optics, as we find.

Specter cold air inlet with K&N air filter

But at least the Mustang sounds because of one thing Specter cold air inlet with K&N air filter, BBK catalysts with high flow and the addressed Pypes sidepipe exhaust system befitting. And as already mentioned, the chassis has also been changed. Is built in Eibach Pro-System Plus chassis with special springs, stabilizers, shock absorbers and struts for better overall handling. You would get the performance up now + 700 PS push, then it would actually be the perfect one Eleanor tribute. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
