The Chinese brand Geely may only be known to many of you due to the spectacular takeover policy, but the Volvo mother's cars, which now use the same platforms and engines as the Swedish luxury brand, are getting better and better and would also be competitive in the European market . You can clearly see the positive influences of the traditional Swedish brand Volvo, because about 10 years ago the Geely models were still in the absolute low-end segment and had extremely large defects. At the time, people really thought that these cars were already falling apart when they were standing, as they were still significantly below a Dacia or Lada in terms of quality.
Times have changed drastically.
Nowadays, Geely is the affordable alternative to a Volvo and offers not only high quality, but also an attractive design, which was created by the British automotive designer Peter Horbury, who is the current Geely chief designer. The Geely Binrui, which we present to you here, is unfortunately not as elegant and stylish anymore, because it has been badly improved to say the least with a foil in pink metallic, and powder-coated aluminum rims that perfectly match the shrill foil. At least the interior was not changed, and thus corresponds to the series, which means that it shines with black leather seats, which are upgraded with red stitching, and is otherwise kept entirely in black.
The engine is sufficient for everyday life.
Under the hood of the Geely Binrui, a tiny 1-liter three-cylinder, which was boosted to 136 HP with the help of a turbocharger, does its job. The power transmission takes place via a dual clutch transmission with 6 speed steps, and the engine provides at least 205 Newton meters of maximum torque. It goes from 10,8 to 0 km / h in 100 seconds, and the elegantly designed sedan reaches a top speed of 200 km / h. This is faster than the new Volvo models, which are electronically limited to 180 km / h to further increase road safety, as Volvo circles have said. The Geely is not a longitudinal dynamics monster, but the performance of this compact sedan is completely sufficient for everyday use, even if sporty natures do not get their money's worth.
This Geely is an optical overkill.
As already described above, the Geely Binrui, which we would like to introduce to you here, is a very special example, because it stands out from the other road users with its barbie pink foil and the powder-coated rims, which go almost tone on tone with the foil. Whether that is your taste or not, you have to decide for yourself, but we find that the optical modifications are like an overkill, because such an elegantly designed limousine simply does not deserve such foiling. If you are curious now, we can tell you that a Geely Binrui 200T, as it is officially called, costs only around 21.000 euros with full equipment, including taxes and import duties. So you wouldn't have to dig that deep if you decided to get such a car as a gray import. For all those interested, there is of course a picture gallery that we have made available for you.
