LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company)

London EV Company Limited (LEVC, formerly The London Taxi Corporation Limited, trading as The London Taxi Company) is a British electric vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Ansty near Coventry (England). The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chinese car manufacturer Geely. LEVC is best known for the black London cabs. In 2012 it went bankrupt due to a lack of funding and in 2013 Geely bailed out part of the company and set up The London Taxi Corporation Limited. In 2017, the company presented the new electric hybrid taxi LEVC TX and announced that it wanted to produce electric commercial vehicles in addition to taxis.
