For us, the current generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL (R231) is the ultimate “wolf in sheep's clothing”. Visually, the Stuttgart is extremely discreet and restrained, but under the hood lurk up to 630 PS & 1.000 NM torque (SL 65 AMG) which make it possible to accelerate to 4 km / h in just 100 seconds and the whole thing is electronically sealed 300 km / h (with AMG Performance Package). But the significantly smaller SL 500 (in USA & Japan as SL 550) is optimally motorized with its 455 PS & 700 NM (facelift) V8 biturbo. Compared to the top model, it is only marginally slower, which in numbers means: 4,3 seconds to 100 km / h and here, too, about 300 km / h are possible if you remove the electronic lock using chip tuning. On the website of the rim lab Ferrad Wheels we discovered an SL550 that received a new wheel set and thus looked perfect. Ferrada Wheels Forge-8 Series F8-FR5 alloy wheels in the dimensions 20 × 9 inches on the front axle and 20 × 11 inches at the rear, which with their matt graphite surface perfectly match the white paintwork of the Stuttgart convertible, were installed.

Apart from the new wheelset, there was still a subtle lowering to the date but unfortunately no information available. Since the SL has a chassis with an adaptive damping system, we can well imagine that the owner has opted for sports springs. Possibly, however, the active suspension system Active Body Control is installed, which is electro-hydraulically controlled and possibly something was drained. If we get more information about this there is of course an update for this post. About the update you will be informed if yours Feed subscribe to. We hope you enjoy watching.

- darkened / tinted windows
- Ferrada Wheels Forge-8 Series F8-FR5 Alloy Wheels (Matte Graphite,
Size: F: 20 × 9 W: 20 × 11) - possibly a performance increase - (chip tuning, tuning box, compressor or turbo conversion, NOS etc. - more information is not available)
- possibly a sports exhaust system (more information is not available)
