After the VW Golf MK7 is before MK2 and in front of the MK1 ... Or something like that! ^^ The Japanese tuner and manufacturer Voomeran is slowly but surely digging through the 7 Golf series and coping with a spectacular MK1 GTI just in time for the 2019 World Championship in Japan. An insane vehicle that has been completely restored and rebuilt and also for the upcoming Golf GTI meeting at the Wörthersee (29. May to 01. June) will be seen. And after the body has been freed from the traces of use of the last 40 years, the Wolfsburg got a handcrafted aerodynamic package missed. Highlight here are of course the huge fender flares that are seamlessly integrated into the body. The design is clearly based on the legendary Pikes Peak MK1 vehicles that are still in use here and there. The widenings are joined by a large spoiler lip in front and the factory-built bumper with integrated turn signals has been completely removed.

And the headlights of the Mk1 are no longer there either. While a blind plug was installed on the driver's side, the intake for the engine is on the passenger side at this point. Unfortunately, we currently have no information at all about this engine. With a high probability, however, more than the standard 110 hp (from 1982 - 112 hp) will work in the Wolfsburg. We're pretty sure of that. And also at the rear of the GTi, the decision was made to completely remove the factory apron. Here there are only the Voomeran panels on the right and left and nothing else. The tailgate was given a huge rally roof rear wing and the huge look of the Voomeran MK1 GTi is rounded off more than impressively. And of course the fantastic wheelset should also be mentioned.
FrontLine forged wheels with XXL deep bed
Specifically, there are three-piece forged wheels from the shelf of the Japanese manufacturer FrontLine with the high-gloss surface in any case the right choice. And so that this wheel set, with the fat Toyo Tires slippers, sits in the widened wheel arches with millimeter precision, there was still a fully adjustable chassis from KW Suspensions. Extensive foiling, including the start number 16, completes the visual changes and gives this MK1 GTI an unmistakable look that will certainly cause a stir in Reifnitz. And also in the interior a lot has happened. Everything that causes unnecessary ballast flew out and with newly prepared seats and a sporty steering wheel you missed the MK1 here, too, an optic in the state of a new car.

Once again, the Japanese Voomeran team, after the MK2 show that they know exactly how to deal with a classic and already we are curious if one similar vehicle will also follow on the basis of the Golf MK3 and MK4.
