299 PS & all-wheel drive: the Volkswagen SUV-Coupé ID.5 GTX!

As elegant as a coupé, as powerful as an SUV and on the move purely electrically: the ID.5 GTX will make its worldwide trade fair debut from September 07th - as a camouflaged study at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Munich. The first SUV coupé based on the modular electric drive kit (MEB) impresses with its elegant design and powerful dual-motor all-wheel drive. The ID.5 GTX is fully networked, can receive updates over-the-air and has Car2X technology on board. The ID.5 GTX is the first all-electric SUV coupe. With its flowing lines, the ID.5 GTX looks elegant and sporty. Short overhangs and large wheels underline its powerful character.

Strong front, elegant body

In the high front, the IQ.Light - LED matrix headlights, which generate an intelligently controlled high beam, make the face appear likeable. The light strip tapering towards the Volkswagen logo was combined with three powerful, illuminated honeycomb elements on the driver and front passenger sides. They complement the signature of the low beam and convey the sporty character even when the vehicle is stationary. The gently sloping A-pillars, which are positioned far forward, bring the roof line into an elegant flow - it spans low over the body and ends in an integrated rear spoiler. At the rear, horizontal lines emphasize the width; the strip of lights is the most eye-catching. The LED rear lights in 3D design round off the premium impression.

GTX means new sportiness

299 PS & all-wheel drive: the Volkswagen SUV-Coupé ID.5 GTX!

The abbreviation GTX stands for a new sportiness in the Volkswagen brand. It continues the tradition of the successful GTI, GTD and GTE models and transfers them to the world of electric mobility. An e-machine each works on the front and rear axles of the ID.5 GTX - the dual-motor all-wheel drive ensures strong driving performance, superior traction and sporty handling. The large lithium-ion battery between the axles enables a predicted range of up to 497 km2. When the ID.5 GTX arrives at dealerships next year, it will be the second model from the sporty GTX product brand and will thus give the ACCELERATE strategy a further boost.

Volkswagen wants to become the most popular brand for sustainable mobility. The goal is to increase the proportion of purely electric cars in Europe to 2030 percent of Volkswagen sales by 70. Volkswagen wants to be carbon neutral on the balance sheet by 2050. If we get more information, there will of course be an update for this report.
