Model 2023: the BMW M 1000 RR is the most powerful naked bike ever!

"With unbroken ambition, maximum passion and technical sophistication, we have succeeded in creating an engineering masterpiece in the further aerodynamic development of the M RR. Thanks to countless hours in the wind tunnel and in road tests, we were able to significantly increase the top speed with the same engine performance and at the same time significantly increase the downforce, even when leaning. Success in racing will reward our development work.“ Christian Gonschor, project manager M 1000 RR

M 1000 RR & M 1000 RR M Competition

With the further development of the BMW M 1000 RR - M RR for short - BMW Motorrad is setting a new milestone in the field of superbikes homologated for racing. The well-known water-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine designed for racing purposes, in particular the Superbike World Championship, is used in the new M RR. As before, its peak output is 156 kW (212 hp) at 14 rpm-1. As before, the chassis of the new M RR relies on the bridge frame made of aluminum as the heart, supplemented by an upside-down fork and central spring strut with Full Floater Pro kinematics. The new M 1000 RR is available in two versions: as the M RR basic version in the basic color Lightwhite non-metallic and as the M RR M Competition in the basic color Black Storm metallic.

Massively increased top speed with significantly increased downforce thanks to new fairings, new M winglets, new front wheel covers with integrated M brake ducts and new M Aero wheel covers.

The increased potential of the new M RR results primarily from the massive further development of aerodynamics. In particular, a newly designed fairing made of visible carbon with a higher window ensures a significant increase in top speed in connection with an optimized flow around the driver. For the first time, this fairing also uses a particularly light and yet very stiff fairing front carrier made of carbon. The top speed of the new M RR has increased compared to the previous model from 306 to 314 km/h. In addition, the driver of the M RR benefits from noticeable physical relief.

In the course of this aerodynamic development, the M winglets have also been completely revised. They now produce significantly more aerodynamic downforce - both in an upright driving position and in an inclined position. The positive effects are the driver's even greater trust in the front wheel for even greater lean angles or higher cornering speeds with the same lean angle and reduced wheelie inclination. At the same time, the driver benefits from a massively increased top speed.

Another central point in the optimization of the overall aerodynamics was the area of the front wheel. Here, for the first time in the history of BMW Motorrad, brake cooling air ducts made of visible carbon - so-called brake ducts - are used. They are integrated in the new front mudguard, which has been optimized for improved air flow around the fork legs and the brake calipers. The M Aero Wheel Covers, also made of visible carbon, ensure a further improvement in driving resistance - especially at speeds above 250 km/h. The M Aero Wheel Covers are reserved for the M RR M Competition.

M carbon wheels with a new surface and M design tapes. Forged wheels optional ex works.

In the new M RR, the M carbon wheels impress with a new clear coat. New tapes in the M design on the edge of the rim underline the elegant technical appearance and the racing claim of the new M RR. As an alternative to the M carbon wheels, the new M RR can now also be ordered ex works with forged wheels.

Newly designed rear section, ergonomic M Endurance seat, short license plate holder and modified wiring harness.

A newly designed rear section makes the current M RR appear even lighter, sportier and more dynamic. The short license plate holder and the ergonomically designed M Endurance seat are also new. Thanks to a modified wiring harness with LWS connector, the now shorter license plate holder with lighting units can be removed even more quickly and easily.
