He is currently the fastest Bobby-Car driver of all time! Dirk Auer (Plastics technology engineer from Groß-Gerau) drove a crazy 119 km / h in a bobby car to the “Race at Airport” speed event at an airfield in Bottrop, setting a new world record. Of course, the 46-year-old didn't reach the speed by pushing his legs but by using a “jet drive”. Previously, the maximum speed in this category was 400 km / h over a distance of 109 meters and now it is 10 km / h higher. However, the attempt was not entirely problem-free because the bobby car caught fire during the first run.
Auer then reduced the “three” installed engines to just one, and with it the record was achieved in the second attempt. However, 180 km / h were planned and therefore the original 3 engines. We already know what to expect in the future - namely a new attempt! By the way, Auer is not entirely unknown. He has already set several world speed records. For example on “inline skates” behind a racing car with an unbelievable 307 kilometers per hour. But even pulled by a motorcycle it was already 291 km / h fast.
