The INTERIOR: sporty and digital
Many RS-specific equipment items also emphasize the sporty character of the two models in the interior. As standard, the driver receives illuminated door sill trims with RS 3 lettering and an entry LED with RS projection on the floor. Many elements in the interior are made of aluminum, the insert in the dashboard is made of carbon. RS sport seats with RS embossing and anthracite-colored contrasting stitching also contribute to the sporty ambience. The seat cover in fine Nappa leather with RS honeycomb quilting and glossy black, red or, for the first time, green contrasting stitching is available as an option. Matching RS design packages are available in red and green. They include special floor mats with contrasting seams and RS embroidery as well as straps with colored edges. The plus design package includes seat shoulders in red or green and a colored bar in the air vents.
Everything under control - with the RS mode button and high-quality rocker switches
The RS 3 is equipped as standard with a flattened RS Sport multifunction leather steering wheel in a 3-spoke design. High-quality switch paddles made of polished zinc die-cast are integrated. Those who opt for the design package will receive the RS badge as well as a 12 o'clock mark for quicker information on the steering wheel position during dynamic journeys.
Alternatively, there is a circular RS steering wheel with hands-on detection, i.e. capacitive grip recognition, for assisted steering functions. In the optional RS design package, the Alcantara-covered steering wheel is set off with red or green contrasting stitching. Both steering wheels have in common the new RS mode button on the right steering wheel spoke. This allows the Audi drive select modes RS Performance, RS Individual or the last used mode to be selected.

The standard 12,3-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus offers a completely new look with the new RS runway design of the rev counter. The values, graphically similar to the runway of an aircraft, are displayed in the opposite direction - i.e. the highest speed in the foreground and the idle in the background. The second option is to display the speed in the form of a bar chart. Power and torque also appear in percentages. In addition, the Audi virtual cockpit plus integrates displays on G-forces, lap times and acceleration from 0–100 km / h, 0–200 km / h, quarter mile and eighth mile.
The RS-specific shift light indicator in manual transmission mode scales the engine speed from green to yellow to flashing red, analogous to motorsport, in order to indicate the optimal time for the gear change. Launch Control, which fully exploits the acceleration potential of the RS 3, signals the ideal moment for the start with its new traffic light symbol. For the first time for the Audi RS 3, a head-up display is also available, which, in addition to the gearshift light and the launch control display, projects other relevant information onto the windshield in the driver's direct field of vision.
10,1-inch touch display with RS monitor as standard
The RS 3 is equipped with a 10,1 inch touch display as standard, via which all functions can be controlled. Thanks to the flat menu structure, the MMI can be operated intuitively. Users can configure the surface of the display themselves by storing frequently used functions on the start page - analogous to the arrangement of apps on the smartphone. The touch display also integrates the so-called RS monitor, in which the temperatures of coolant, engine and transmission oil as well as the G-forces and optionally also the tire pressures can be read. Voice control is also standard, which turns the new Audi RS 3 into an intelligent conversation partner. Instructions can be freely formulated thanks to the dialog manager. Two USB-C ports with data and charging functions in front of the S tronic Shifter, DAB + digital radio reception and a Bluetooth interface complete the standard equipment.
MMI navigation plus and Audi connect
The MMI navigation plus also comes with handwriting recognition, which makes it easy to enter a destination. The route is calculated both onboard and online at the map service provider HERE. Predictions about the development of the traffic situation make the route guidance even more precise. As part of MMI navigation plus, the online services from Audi connect supplement route planning, including online traffic information and several car-to-x services. These network the new RS 3 with other vehicles and the infrastructure. In this way, among other things, free parking spaces can be found on the roadside or the green wave can be used via traffic light communication, provided the necessary infrastructure exists. Additional services are bundled in the optional connect plus package. This includes online radio, hybrid radio, the integration of Amazon Alexa as well as navigation with Google Earth and a highly detailed 3D city display.
As a further highlight, the RS 3 has Functions on Demand. For the first time, customers can book functions online on demand - after buying the car and at any time. These are, for example, MMI navigation plus including the connect services, camera-based traffic sign recognition and the Audi smartphone interface.
Comprehensive infotainment offer
The optional Audi connect key offers even more connectivity in the new RS 3. It authorizes you to lock and unlock the car and to start the engine using the start / stop button on an Android smartphone. As standard, up to six vehicle users can save their personal settings in individual profiles, for example frequently used navigation destinations or the air conditioning system. The free myAudi app also offers many other functions, such as the seamless continuation of navigation from the car on the smartphone.
Hardware components complement the infotainment offer. The Audi phone box couples the smartphone to the car antenna and charges it inductively. The Audi smartphone interface connects the iOS or Android mobile phone with the RS 3 and brings Apple Car Play or Android Auto to the MMI display - wirelessly too. The Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 3D sound ensures an intense sound experience. It controls 15 loudspeakers with 680 watts of power.
