Gray Shark: modified BMW M2 Competition by AIRTEC Motorsport!

The BMW M2 Competition that we are introducing to you today was originally designed as a test vehicle for Tuning parts and designed as a promotional vehicle for trade fairs. The global corona pandemic and the resulting lockdown made the owner of the vehicle, who was also the founder of AIRTEC Motorsport is, however, a spanner in the works. Thus, the planned exhibition vehicle became a test vehicle for new components, which from AIRTEC CEO Alan Shepherd is driven on the road to test new components. Let's take a closer look at the Bavarian car, which is doing its rounds in Great Britain.

Striking shark foiling

Not only at first glance is the matt gray Vollfolierung, with shark optics, an eye-catcher that encourages you to smile, but also on closer inspection you inevitably have a smile on your face. But far from the funny graphics, there are still various AIRTEC components on the M2C, such as Splitter made of carbon fiber, a Carbon diffuser , and a rear spoiler, which is also made of the ultra-light material. When it comes to the chassis, AIRTEC founder Alan Shepherd relies on the German chassis manufacturer KW by using a KW-V3 coilover kit installed to improve driving dynamics.

In addition to the new chassis also held stabilizers by Eibach entering the Bavarian sports coupe. And of course no standard rims are allowed to be used in a test vehicle for tuning components, and so the decision was made to use 19-inch alloy wheels (9,5 x 19 inches & 10,5 x 19 inches) from the APEX brand, which listen to the model name EC-7. From our point of view, they match the vehicle perfectly with their U-shaped double-spoke design and the gray finish. Pilot Super Sport tires from the French manufacturer Michelin in size 245/35 R19 do their job on the front axle, while tires of the same brand in size 265/35 R19 are mounted on the drive axle. A brake also lives behind it Pagid RS29 brake pads and Steelfex Brake Lines.

There are no modifications in the interior

The interior is currently completely standard, but that can change quickly in a test vehicle for tuning components. The 3-liter R6 petrol engine (S55B30) with BiTurbo charging is not standard. The performance of the legendary in-line six of the M2 Competition has been increased once again with the help of various modifications. So found about one Stage 1 remapping, a bigger one Intercooler, AIRTEC Motorsport Billet Charge Cooler Kit, Catch Can Tank Kit, AIRTEC Motorsport DCT cooler and a new intake made its way into the car. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the exact performance data, but we do know that the power transmission of the bolide has a 7-speed dual clutch transmission takes place on the rear wheels.

Our conclusion: We believe that the car is a successful project vehicle that can also be presented at trade fairs after the global pandemic and should no longer only function as a test balloon. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
