Yesterday we wrote in the post for AC Schnitzer performance upgrade for the BMW M4 (G82) reported that it is now upgraded to 590 PS & 750 NM on the part of Schnitzer, but we also speculated that this upgrade would also have to be available for the technically identical M3. And today there is official confirmation from Schnitzer that an extensive tuning program including power punch is now available for the M3 (G80). The epitome of sporty driving at BMW, the M3, is entering its sixth generation with the G80 model series. And as with its predecessors in their day, the current M3 is also the most powerful 3 Series of its time. This also applies to the AC Schnitzer version. There has never been more power and driving dynamics in a 3 Series than in the M3 by AC Schnitzer. You can feel this plus in power and sportiness in the M3 by AC Schnitzer in every driving situation: on the racetrack as well as in everyday life, on public roads.
BMW M3 (G80) from AC Schnitzer
AC Schnitzer, like the M4 linked in the entrance, provides for the expansion of the engine power with an increase in performance from 375 kW / 510 PS and 650 Nm to now 434 kW / 590 PS and 750 Nm Torque. A three-year guarantee is always included in the scope of delivery for all AC Schnitzer performance enhancements. But that's not all. A useful addition to the performance upgrade developed by the AC Schnitzer engineers is the AC Schnitzer double sports rear silencer with two carbon "Sport" tailpipes on each side. It brings to the ear what every tuning fan makes the heart beat faster: a powerful, sporty sound with improved exhaust gas throughput at the same time.
Suspension for the M3 G80
With the AC Schnitzer suspension spring set (lowering 15 - 20 mm on the front axle - the standard springs remain on the rear axle) or with the RS coilover suspension, which can be adjusted in compression (low-speed and high-speed) and rebound - including lowering, every M3 driver becomes clear when cornering that the true feeling for driving dynamics comes from Aachen. "Better fast than hard“, According to this philosophy, AC Schnitzer chassis are tuned and you can feel that in every situation. The handling of the AC Schnitzer RS coilover kit corresponds in principle to that of the series: good-natured load change reactions and gentle understeer in the limit area are important - nevertheless, significantly higher cornering speeds are possible with the AC Schnitzer RS coilover kit and that with absolutely comfortable suitability for everyday use.
Wheelsets / rims for the M3 G80
The dynamic package by AC Schnitzer is rounded off by a matching range of rims and wheels. The AC3 wheels in silver / anthracite or anthracite / silver are available for the BMW M3 as lightweight forged rims in 10,0 J x 20 inches. These rims realize what basically seems contradictory: Less weight with the same wheel diameters. This advantage of forging technology also influences the driving dynamics. The road holding of the M3 is even better thanks to the mixed tires available. On the front axle, the AC3 lightweight forged rims in 20 inches are equipped with 285/30 R 20 tires, and 295/30 R 20 tires are used for the rear rims. AC20 rims in the same dimensions are also available as 1-inch alloy rims.
Aerodynamics for the M3 G80
The basis of the aerodynamics package is the black front splitter on the front axle, which can be installed without further painting and which increases the downforce of the M3 by up to 40 kg. In addition, front side wings are used, which were also specially developed for the M3. The new design package, consisting of a 4-part deflector set for the front fenders and two design elements for the bonnet of the M3, give the front the finishing touch and its very own look. At the rear of the vehicle, too, the signs point to improved downforce. Starting with the rear roof spoiler, through the rear spoiler, which provides 20 kg of increased downforce, and a carbon rear diffuser to the new carbon racing rear wing: which, in conjunction with the Gurney Flap, which is also available, brings up to 70 kg of increased downforce, the AC Schnitzer have deeply grabbed the aerodynamic toolbox. Side skirts and rear skirt protection films, together with lettering, complement the extensive range.
Steering for the M3 G80
The interior design continues in a stylish and functional way. "THE" control element with which you have every driving situation firmly under control is the AC Schnitzer sports steering wheel. The steering wheel rim of the steering wheel in a noble material mix of perforated nappa leather in black with black Alcantara is connected to a unit by a light gray cross-stitch seam. With recessed grips on the right and left for the driver's thumbs and the light gray motorsport indicator with the AC Schnitzer logo for center marking, the orientation of the current steering wheel position is ensured.
Accessories for the interior of the M3 G80
The combination with the AC Schnitzer aluminum shift paddles, which are noticeably larger compared to the series counterparts, is a further sensible optimization. Aluminum pedals and footrests, key holders and the aluminum cover for the iDrive Controller are available when it comes to adapting the interior of the vehicle to its performance and sporty elegance. The sixth generation of the M3 by AC Schnitzer is everything again: a vehicle that is absolutely suitable for everyday use with pleasant comfort and, on the other hand, a sports car that is suitable for bends and racetracks.
