Can you still remember the limited special edition for the 25th birthday of the M3, in the form of the E90 M3 CRT? With only 67 units built, the inconspicuous sedan was even more exclusive than the 135 BMW M3 E92 GTS and used its technology. The unmistakable highlights were the orange accents on the exterior as well as the successful interior which was also convincing in orange and with a lot of leather and carbon. Other important features were a CFRP engine hood, bucket seats made from recycled paper honeycomb, and of course the increase in performance of the 4,4l S65 V8 engine to a whopping 450 PS & 440 NM torque. It goes without saying that this exclusivity had its price of € 130.000. The tuning team from Alpha-N Performance brought the CRT to the screen and used it as a template for a project based on a BMW M4 F82 Coupé.
The coupé is similarly inconspicuous as the M3 sedan and here, too, high-quality components contribute to the self-proclaimed CRT abbreviation. Let's start with the aerodynamics, which gives the M4 an even more dynamic style using the in-house carbon front spoiler for the standard M front bumper. And there were also changes at the rear because the tuner installed a large spoiler lip here, which is also made of carbon and also comes from its own production. That the spoiler is not just a show is impressively proven by the published figures that show that a whopping 200 kg of contact pressure is generated at a speed of 53 km / h. Obviously, a new set of wheels was also installed and here the decision was made for HRE Performance Wheels alloy wheels of the type R101 in matt gold which, with their 20 inch format, fit perfectly into the wheel arches and, thanks to the Öhlins Road & Track coilover kit, make any unnecessary space disappear.
Incidentally, the rims are manufactured using a forging process and, thanks to this technology, only weighs 30 kg for the entire set of rims. The new aluminum's are fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 265 / 30R20 and 295 / 30R20 formats. And of course an increase in performance should not be missing and here you achieve that the S55 biturbo using EVOX Stage1 chip tuning shakes 520 PS instead of the standard 431 PS from its sleeve. And there were also changes in the interior because sporty bucket seats are now also installed here in the style of the E90 CRT. The decision was made for Recaro Pole Position sports bucket seats on particularly deep lightweight consoles.
