It's hard to believe that production of the BMW i8 was stopped in mid-2020 after six years of construction. Up to then around 20.500 vehicles had been built, which caused quite a stir, even if the i8 is not necessarily the most beautiful model of the brand. And while some consider the i8 as Daily driver used, others have rebuilt the hybrid sports car, in some cases significantly. And the latter also applies to the owner of this copy in purple. The i8 got an extensive one bodykit donated by Liberty Walk from Japan. You can tell immediately from the extensions all around. As always, these have the mandatory ones exposed screw connectionswho have favourited Liberty Walk on almost all vehicles below the LB Silhouette Works components uses. According to Liberty, this i8 is only the second conversion in Europe. Originally the vehicle was painted gray, but after the body kit it should also have one Twilight Purple paint .
Liberty Walk widebody kit
A new one joins the mentioned widening front apron with front spoiler and on both sides there were big ones sideblades. Changed ones sit between the screwed-on fender flares side skirts and also the more aggressive bonnet with air vent is new.
The i8 has had one at the rear since the conversion Ducktail spoiler lip and optically the project is staged even more with golden accents around the kidneys and on the sills already mentioned. In combination with the glossy black painted components, a successful mixture, as we think. And the new one is also suitable wheelset. It comes from the shelf at Vossen Wheels and is of course forged. Specifically, it is the three-part Type S17-01 in the format 20 × 9,5 inches at the front and 20 × 11 inches at the back. The Y-spoke pattern harmonizes as a mix with a finish in Silver and Gold and of course are ultra-thin too Low-profile tires installed by Continental.
Lowering with Airride air suspension
Finally there was one more Lowering by means of Airride air suspension and Airlift performance control for the two-door. By the way, making the i8 look the way it does was a pretty messy job, excerpts from Liberty Walk in the video below.
