Black Series conversion on the Mercedes-AMG GT R from SR Tuning!

Seeing an AMG Black Series on our streets, the chance is extremely slim! The dark top of the AMG Performance impresses as a street-legal racing car and whether it is a C 63 Coupé, CLK 63, SL 65, SLK 55 or SLS Coupé, we have never seen a Black Series on the road before. A rare Ferrari or Lamborghini is much more likely. And of course that applies even more to the brand new one AMG GT Black Series (C190). But now the odds are a little higher. Because there is another copy on our streets. At least you would like to think so... Because the vehicle in the pictures is actually not a real one Black Series. Instead, it's a "normal" AMG GT R. If you can even use the word "normal" in view of a 585 hp coupe ex works.

The specialists at SR tuning from Hamburg have that Black Series upgrade implemented on the GT R down to the last detail and with Mercedes original parts. In other words, all body parts made of full carbon for the Black Series outfit come straight from the Mercedes-Benz shelf. Ahead there was the powerful apron of the Black Series with the extremely large Grille Inlet and the adjustable one front splitter. In addition, of course, the rugged one bonnet, the fender with the large gills and also the spreading ones side skirts are installed. It continues at the rear with the on a new one Hatchback sitting giant rear wing with several floors and the Black Series could not be missing rear apron with the distinctive central LED light.

In the wheelset However, the conversion differs from the Black Series. Instead of the, in our opinion, too small AMG forged wheels in 10-spoke design in matt black with a high-sheen rim flange, there was a much nicer multi-piece Yido Performance YP 9.2 Forged rims in the format 10,5×20 at the front and 12,5×21 inches at the back in black. These are equipped with slippers in the format 275/30 ZR20 and 325/25 ZR21. In terms of Bremsanlage behind it, by the way, the carbon-ceramic brakes with the huge black painted calipers of the AMG GT R stayed with good reason. And they are clearly above the 730 hp AMG Black Series Performance from the SR tuning unique. The four-liter V8 BiTurbo was modified using partly original ones Black Series components (Intercooling & exhaust system) in combination with an in-house Stage 4 performance increase on crazy 973 PS & 1.288 Nm maximum torque.

3,2 seconds to pace 100 km / h

The heavily tuned conversion with M176 V8 petrol engine runs in just 3,2 seconds to 100 km/h (Series: 3,6s / Black Series: 3,2s) and the top speed is an enormous 340 km/h – curtailed! And so that this works reliably and, above all, permanently, SR Tuning has added the original seven-speed dual-clutch transmission Dodson coupling put aside. And last but not least, there was one more in the interior AMG performance steering wheel from the AMG GT 4-door coupé. And finally ... Incredible part!
