Mercedes-Benz R63 AMG with 700 PS from the tuner Weistec!

The Mercedes R-Class (internal designation: series W251) as the R 63 AMG variant is probably the most inconspicuous way to drive a 510 PS and 630 NM strong V8. For a short period (2006–2007), the engineers at Mercedes-AMG worked in 322 vehicles (238 pieces with long wheelbase and 84 pieces with short wheelbase) the 6208 cm³ M156.980-V8 (also in the ML 63 AMG W164) installed the R-Class, in combination with a 7-speed automatic (7G-TRONIC), catapulted to 100 km / h in just five seconds. Back then and long shows, the R 63 was pretty much the fastest van ever. The absolute dream on wheels for fathers! For many others, the peculiar mix of station wagon and van, especially as an AMG variant, was simply superfluous.

Weistec Stage 2 compressor kit

In particular, due to the fact that you had to leaf almost € 100.000 for the six-seater as the R63 on the table. At the moment, such a purchase from that time should definitely pay off, because after all, not a single vehicle is currently available for sale on the large platforms. The stable value is likely to be correspondingly high. After all, the variants with a short wheelbase, for example, are similarly exclusive as a CLK-DTM! And this vehicle, which was equipped by the tuner Weistec Engineering with its own Stage 2 compressor kit, is likely to be almost unique. This performance kit makes a leap to an insane 700 HP! And this with full suitability for everyday use and the ultimate understatement of the R63 AMG. The changes are not only focused on the compressor kit, they are also deep inside the engine. Starting with the cylinder head, to the connecting rods and pistons, through chip tuning to the charge air cooler and the specially made sports exhaust system, everything comes from Tuner Weistec.

two-piece 21 inch monoblock wheelset

And Weistec has also adapted the intake (RoW airbox), the injection nozzles and the automatic transmission to the additional power. In addition, there is a beautiful two-part 21-inch monoblock wheel set in typical AMG look (replica) with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and behind it is a specially adapted 6-piston Brembo sports brake system with perforated two-part brake discs. The factory AMG suspension can be lowered at the push of a button and, in combination with the wheel set mentioned, makes the R63 AMG look particularly dynamic and sporty. And on the platform bringatrailer.com the R63 AMG can even be purchased for the equivalent of $ 92.000.
