A 1972 Range Rover as a spacey shooting brake!

There was only one of them 6 pc! This Range Rover is a Shooting Brake and currently listed on Bonhams. The range could be described as an automotive anomaly, and it can be assumed that you will not see a second model on the road. The chance of winning the lottery is definitely higher. Because the British manufacturer has only completed six prototypes, and only this one is currently for sale. The retro classic will be auctioned in September and, in addition to the stretched body also an exciting story. Namely, it was built to work as a full-fledged rescue vehicle.

Range Rover Shooting Brake!

The Department "for special vehicles“Range Rover commissioned and built a dozen of these vehicles in the 70s, and each came with an extended chassis for use as an ambulance. But probably only 6 of them came onto the street. And according to Bonhams there are only two left - possibly three - which of course makes the 4 × 4 classic even rarer.

By the way, it's the vehicle with the Chassis number 355-04063A and thus one of two “ambulances” that were built in 1972. Marked by a striking stepped roof and 10 foot wheelbase. He was sent to the St John Ambulance Brigade sold where he was in service for a good 44 years. But now he's in Retired and privately owned since 2017. In 2018 it was developed by the Range Rover specialists from Bishops 4 × 4 in Yaxley restauriert and converted into a shooting brake for eight people.

Prototype for the current SUVs

The vehicle has been in excellent condition since the conversion. The Shooting Brake has never really caught on from Range Rover, but it is one Pioneer of the current SUVs and the striking stepped roof can even be seen in the current Discovery. The vehicle will be auctioned at the Goodwood Revival on September 18 and is expected to fetch between $ 110.000 and $ 170.000.
