Toyota has for the region Asia-Pacific the Corolla sedan with Tuning presented by Gazoo Racing. But it's not the "Performance Corolla" we expected. the Toyota Corolla GR Sport, which is now making its debut in Thailand, is based on the well-known sedan (is called Corolla Altis in Southeast Asia). For us, the most obvious change to the 2022 Corolla GR Sport is the new one front apron. It has a wider lower air intake and that's what the Corolla GR Sport sees like the camry out. Called the Corolla Altis GR Sport, it is available with a 1,8-liter hybrid system and as a non-hybrid variant. In the style of "usual GR vehicles“ there were still changed side skirts and also the rear bumper is slightly revised with the integrated diffuser design. Also the mandatory ones GR Sport emblems all belong to it. However, the vehicle is still on the two-tone 17 inch alloy wheels. Inside, Toyota relies on a large number of red ones for the Corolla GR Sport interior details instead of the silver satin finishes of the regular Corolla.

There is also a blue one LED lighting in the doors and in the center console and the Seats received red stitching as well as one GR embossing on the headrests. And there are special ones exclusive to the Corolla GR Sport shift paddles accessible. Toyota is showing a new one for the first time Head-Up Display. Whether all this with a maximum of 140 hp and 171 NM torque (2ZR-FXE 1,8 liter dual VVT-i four-cylinder naturally aspirated/ignited) or 122 hp and 142 NM (Hybrid with electric motor and nickel metal hydride battery) and front-wheel drive is necessary, everyone has to decide for themselves. However, the 2022 Toyota Corolla GR Sport will probably not go down in history as a “performance Toyota”. Since the new changes Suspension with upgraded shock absorbers, springs and a new rear anti-roll bar, nothing in our opinion.
