Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO: Japan racer for customer sport!

Toyota has been building the current generation (A2019) of the Supra since 90. After decades of abstinence in the sports car segment, all JDM fans were thrilled when the new Supra was presented to the public in 2019. But not only many tuners and tuning fans long for a Supra in the garage, but also various private racing teams, which offer motorsport for customer vehicles, want to get a piece of the Supra hype. A GT2020 version of the sports coupé from Toyota made its debut in 4, and since then it has achieved a total of more than 50 class wins and 100 podium finishes in 11 national and international competitions. This car has now been redesigned to remain competitive and has been given the suffix EVO.

Customers gave feedback to Toyota!

Gazoo Racing, the motorsport division of the world's largest automobile manufacturer, also used customer data and feedback from customer teams for the optimization. The chassis, handling and brakes were further improved on the basis of the data. The facelifted version called EVO is characterized by new KW shock absorbers, an adjusted ABS setting and other stabilizers. The optimized Supra will celebrate its debut as part of the 24-hour race in Daytona, which will take place in early January 2023. For customers who already own a GR Supra GT4, Gazoo Racing also offers an upgrade kit to upgrade their existing vehicle.

3-litre R6 turbo petrol engine does its job!

The R6 turbo, which comes from the BMW shelf, got a revised torque curve and more effective cooling. Thanks to the optimized cooling, the vehicle is said to generate more power and torque than its predecessor. Unfortunately, we do not have exact performance data or information on the mileage for you. Our conclusion: A great project that shows that Gazoo Racing and Toyota are also dedicated to mass sport. We have respect for that. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
