This week, the news about the brand new comes up M5 F90 from BMW. Many famous tuners have already secured a copy and work on some extensive modifications of any kind. This also includes the BMW Traditionstuner AC Schnitzer which now increases the tension with a first teaser video. Is this already the new AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport BMW M5 based on the F90? It looks like it! On display is an M5 F90 development vehicle (iIn the context of the record day at the Sachsenring) which, according to Schnitzer, will soon be calleda real M5 by AC Schnitzer" will come. The vehicle was on site because it tried to break the lap record as the fastest BMW, and special sports seats have been transplanted into the M5 especially for this purpose.

The back seat is missing completely in this car. The weight drops to 1810 kilograms and so the ACS5 weighs a good 90 kilograms less than the series. A discreet front spoiler on the front M-bumper, side skirts and an AC3 wheel set in 20 inch with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are already installed (especially for the record run). If you look closely you can also see bright green calipers of a seemingly revised brake system and the lowering by means of KW sports suspension (also a prototype) can be seen. The rear makes itself noticed with a fixed rear spoiler and also a sporty rear diffuser can be seen. With high probability, these aerodynamic components are installed in the noble carbon fiber.

In addition, AC Schnitzer already seems to have an initial increase in performance on approx. 700 PS & 850 NM (not installed in this vehicle) in stock and the soundscape and the information in the teaser video also speak of a possible sports exhaust system or a really hot serial system. And of course various changes in the interior are also planned. We are extremely excited about what is in store for us and anyone who knows AC Schnitzer knows that things are definitely not done by halves. More details on tuning may follow in the next few days. Until then you can subscribe to the post and as soon as it receives an update you will be informed by us.

Update

News from 11.06.2018

Video: Work in progress - BMW M5 F90 from tuner AC Schnitzer

Now the carver F90 M5 was a first time in action and he brings the record for the fastest sedan at the Sachsenring. The lap time was strong at the end of the 3,671 kilometers long lap 1: 31,71 minutes and that although prototype status is still popular and the vehicle (according to Schnitzer) has never been tested on the racetrack. Compared to the series, that was an improvement of just under 4 seconds, which means you are even ahead of a Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4SV, a Mercedes-AMG GT C or the current Porsche 911 Turbo S. Incidentally, the limo was driven by touring car driver Jörg Müller, who was not in action in such a powerful car from Munich for the first time.

Update

continues the record hunt

After touring car pilot Jörg Müller set a new best time on the Sachsenring in June with the carver M5, the Nordschleife was now on the line. Once again Jörg Möller was at the wheel and again there was an amazing result. In less than optimal conditions (Wet in places) stood at the end of an impressive 7: 30 minutes on the clock which means that the M5 is ahead of a Ferrari 458, a Porsche 911 Carrera or the Mercedes-AMG GT S. Even the fastest production BMW ever in the form of the M4 GTS is within 7's reach: 28 minutes. The complete 7: 29.5 minutes were recorded via onboard camera and we hope you enjoy the video.

Maybe there will soon be an update with information and pictures. If this is the case we will of course also put it online and inform you about it.
