"Fridays For Displacement" Facebook group temporarily offline

There is no question that the “Fridays for Future” protests Germany columns. Car drivers and tuners in particular have the impression that climate activists are increasingly restricting their freedom. That is why a Facebook group called "Fridays for Hubraum" was founded 4 days ago and has since managed to get almost 400.000 members. Our own Facebook group with around 540.000 members easily needed more than two years for this! Hats off ... In the group description of “Fridays for Future” it says “We are more!” And also the note “Climate change has existed since the history of the earth. In Germany we cannot save the world at the expense of thousands of jobs. But everyone should protect the environment as best they can ”. As with our group, “Fridays for Hubraum” is a closed group to which one can only be admitted by means of an “application”. However, there is currently so much commotion in this group that it has been temporarily deactivated.

Murder of Greta Thunberg? The problems of the group

Right-wing populists and conspiracy horetics cavort, the AfD is often posted and there are even calls for the murder of Greta Thunberg. Now the administrators have to "clean up" the group and check the contents and remove suspicious members. We believe that this is a reaction to warnings and deletions from Facebook that we have already experienced several times in our group. Since then, each post has only been approved after it has been checked. However, this also means that, for example, 200 videos that are posted a day have to be viewed in full to ensure that there is no scene in the middle of the post that contradicts Facebook guidelines. However, the larger such a group becomes, the more complex and time-consuming it is.

Controlling and filtering out comments from such posts is almost impossible. Our group currently has 1,7 millions of posts, comments, and responses over the last 28 days. It is simply not possible to control these. However, questionable content can lead to being warned or eventually deleted from Facebook. In our opinion, a system that is not thought through and how many of the other problems, rules and machinations of Facebook make you resort to alternatives beyond the largest network in the world.
