Sacrilege or heaven on earth? Ford Bronco with 8,2-liter V8!

In 1966, hot rod icon and drag racer Doug Nash decided to do a so-called Bronco Buster to create a one-of-a-kind fun car that caused a sensation in the dragster scene, but is the exact opposite of the series Bronco. With his Lowering, Pick-up bed and the sporty appearance, this version of the Bronco embodies nothing at all of the coarse, off-road original. The Bronco, which we are introducing to you today, is knitted in a similar way to Doug Nash's Buster, and designed more for the drag strip than for any unpaved roads and paths. The enormously unusual Ford, which also has a very unusual drive, is now at the auction house mecum, waiting to find a winning bidder to put it in his garage. According to our information there is no minimum bid, and the starting price is arguably a single dollar.

Shortened and rebuilt Bronco!

Not just that enormous short body, but also the Pick-up bed immediately catches the eye, and it's hard to believe that you can turn a Ford Bronco into a two-seater hot rod pickup à la Chevrolet SSR, which in our opinion also looks really good.

A narrow one 9 inch front axle as well as a rear one Independent suspension with multilink rear axle are also major renovations, which deserve our greatest respect. A new steering column, Disc brakes all around from Baer as well as a completely new one Art Morrison chassis are also part of the complete renovation of the '67 Bronco. It must of course be clear to everyone that by lowering the chassis, any kind of off-road capability has been lost, but a completely new vehicle has emerged that can definitely achieve the maximum number of points on a popularity scale.

The most striking feature, however, is that large open engine hoodwhereby the V8 engine including a huge compressor is almost completely visible. Every car fan turns to this Ford Bronco, and at a US car meet or quarter mile race you would definitely be the star of the event.

The interior is bursting with luxury.

Believe it or not, a great deal of emphasis was placed on the interior Luxury and comfort placed. A complete custom interior finished with brown Manager in an alligator look, was created by M&M Interior in Holly Pond, Alabama. A Wood Steering Wheels with classic three-spoke optics, AutoMeter Pro Comp instruments , and a selector lever in the classic piston design testify to the style and class of the custom cockpit.

In order to always keep a cool head, there is also one Automatic climate control from Vintage Air in the car, and there is a for cool sound while driving Sony Xplod CD sound system. So every ride with the heavily modified Bronco is pure pleasure.

GM-V8 with 8,2 liters displacement provides power!

In the eyes of many Ford disciples, it is blasphemy, an engine of the arch-rival General Motors to transplant into a bronco. The tuner wanted to be controversial with this Engine swap provoke what he has succeeded in doing. 461 PS and a solid 757 Newton meters The engine is supposed to generate maximum torque in series from the enemy camp.

Almost twice the power and twice the torque can be achieved thanks to, among other things, a huge 8,2 liter displacement, one Childs & Albert Compressor and Carburetors by Holley Demon. Estimated performance of the blasphemous Bronco are thus about 900 PS and a torque in the four-digit range. That should mean times under 10 seconds be easily feasible on the quarter mile.

Our Conclusion about this 1967 Ford Bronco:

In Germany, the rivalry between Ford and GM is not as pronounced as in the USA or Down Under. So we bow to the tuner who carried out this engine swap and turned the Bronco into a dragstrip monster.
