The STL1: BorromeodeSilva's Off-Road 1969 Ford Mustang Restomod!

Have you ever dreamed of having a classic one? 1968 Ford Mustang not on the asphalt, but in the wilderness (in the outback)? Carlo Borromeo and his team Borromeo de Silva in Milan have transformed this dream into a fascinating rendering: the so-called STL1, a Mustang, the for the terrain was built. The name STL1 is a homage to Sylvester Stallone, the “Italian Stallion“, and reflects the power and endurance of the specific vehicle. Borromeo, who is actually known for his sometimes spectacular Restorations European athlete is known, has broken new ground with the STL1. But why an American muscle car? The answer lies in Borromeo's private story.

As a young design student, he bought one '68 Mustang Fastback in Texas and drove it across the USA to Buenos Aires. The trip inspired him to think about a Mustang that would look good not only on the road but also off-road. The STL1 is the result of considerations and more than just one Restomod. It is a complete reinvention of the classic Mustang, unmissable with a focus on Off-road capabilities. One of the most noticeable changes is the flexing of the roof in favor of one Roll cage, which not only makes the vehicle safer, but also gives it a distinctive look. But it's the details that make the difference.

An adapted one Body increases ground clearance while shortened overhangs front and back Ramp and Departure Angles improve. The wheel arches are also more angular and integrated Fog Lights in the front apron and one Exhaust System, which is integrated into one of the three taillights, are just some of the adjustments. The inmates are also waiting inside modern, digital dashboard and comfortable new seats that are just as suitable for off-road adventures as they are for a relaxed ride on the asphalt. Technically the STL1 is with high performance Billet dampers and tubular handlebars equipped on the front and rear axle.

The combination of punched and slotted 11 inches (approx. 28 cm) Brake discs front and 10,5-inch counterparts at the rear bring the “off-roader” to a reliable standstill. Of course we have one under the hood 5,0 liter Coyote V8 before, with various improvements to around 450 PS was tuned. However, BorromeodeSilvas STL1 remains for the time being a dream captured in renderings. If there is demand, the company plans to build a prototype and possibly launch a small series. An exciting project that shows how deep the passion for cars and design is Borromeo de Silva are rooted. A dream come true for anyone who longs for a muscle car that delivers outstanding performance not only on the road but off the road as well.
