For the third time, automobile refiners Kourosh Mansory and couturier PHILIPP PLEIN have been cooperating on the individualization of a Mercedes G-Class: after the Mercedes-Benz G 2011 AMG, which was completely luxury-tuned in 55, and the “Star Trooper” presented last year based on a Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG, the two exceptional designers are now presenting another product of their shared creativity: the "Star Trooper Pickup". Striking body modifications and a lavishly leather-clad interior dominated the exclusive collaboration in the previous conversions. And in the third and current project, the designer duo MANSORY and PLEIN once again succeeded in refining vehicles at the highest technical and design level. As revolutionary as PHILIPP PLEIN has changed the fashion world, Kourosh Mansory has successfully transformed luxury-class vehicles into exclusive one-offs. With their longstanding cooperation, the two designers have once again created a unique off-road vehicle that combines luxury, individuality and the highest level of driving performance.

50 shades of gray camouflage design

The body styling of the G-Class, which is painted in the "50 Shades of Gray Camouflage Design", impresses both optically and technically. The complete aerodynamic add-on parts are made of carbon from the front apron to the flares on the flanks to the rear apron. But the ultra-light and high-strength material alone is not enough for MANSORY to achieve the desired exclusivity. In the autoclave prepreg process, the carbon is compressed so strongly in a special pressure chamber that no air pockets remain in the material. This cost-intensive processing method is usually only used in aerospace technology. But thanks to the vertical range of manufacture of a real automobile manufacturer available at MANSORY, the carbon specialists at MANSORY do not have to make any compromises when it comes to production in the company's own autoclaves.

the G 63 AMG now has an impressive 850 hp

PHILIPP PLEIN logos on the front and back clearly indicate the cooperation between MANSORY and PLEIN. The noble tuner designed the revision of the engine no less complex. Larger turbochargers, new downpipes and a high-performance exhaust system are adapted to the 4,0 liter V8 unit with newly programmed electronics. Instead of the 585 hp of the standard G 63 AMG, this now results in an impressive 850 hp. The maximum torque increases from 850 to 1.000 Newton meters. This improves the sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour to just 3,5 seconds, and the top speed increases to 250 km / h. In order to bring this enormous power to the asphalt, the luxury tuner equips the "Star Trooper Pickup" with high-performance tires of size 355 / 25R24. They are carried by new, one-piece "YN.5" forged wheels in the corresponding dimension 12,5 × 24, which MANSORY presented to the world for the first time on the occasion of the Geneva International Motor Show 2019.

chic decorative stitching and hexagon quilting

The chassis as such was raised by 6 cm in height - in order to cope with the tough use of a real pickup. The interior design is of course in no way inferior to the exclusive exterior. The MANSORY saddlery only allows flawless leather skins from selected animals to cover the interior. The animal skins, perfectly trimmed with various decorative seams and finished with hexagon quilting, are characterized both by their longevity and by their particularly pleasant feel. The "gray camouflage design" of the exterior is also transferred to the interior. The exquisite overall impression is refined by the airbag sports steering wheel and the aluminum pedals. Fine details such as applications made of visible carbon combined with masterfully crafted PHILIPP PLEIN logos also document the holistic cooperation of the two companies in the interior.
