A Mercedes becomes a Tesla: crazy 300 SL Gullwing from S-KLUB LA!

A Californian start-up has dared to create a legendary one Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gull Wing to convert it into an electric car by using the technology of one Tesla Model 3 used. The 300 SL, originally a racing car from the 1950s Gullwing doors and a 3,0 liter M198 engine, which produced 222 hp and accelerated the classic to up to 217 km/h, is now practically a Tesla in secret. The project, directed by John Sarkisyan, the CEO of S-Club, took about two months. The mechanics worked various double shifts, often until midnight, to complete the unique electrical work. They started by purchasing a working Tesla Model 3, removing its body, customizing it, and finally putting the Mercedes shell on it.

Even those work Cameras and Sensors of the Tesla in the new guise of the 300 SL. However, the interior of the significantly tuned vehicle differs greatly from the original Mercedes. Instead of a slim steering wheel and a sophisticated dashboard, you can now find the minimalist and ultra-modern look of the Model 3 in the 300 SL, with a large one 15 inch touch screen as a central control element. The team chose the color for the exterior Pearl white, a look that can also be found on the Model 3. In the interior and on some exterior details, such as the stripe along the Hoodtransported by the roof and the rear lid as well as the Calipers, they decided on Tiffany Blue.

The bright turquoise color stands in spectacular contrast to the vehicle's paintwork and gives the unique vehicle a particularly unusual look, perfect for various trips along the Pacific coast. The classic is now available white 18 inch rims with Toyo tires (R888R) and has already been published on the SEMA 2023 officially exhibited in Las Vegas. However, we only received the information about the vehicle last weekend. With the extensive transformation, the Tiffany 300 SL, a mix of Tesla and Mercedes, is, in our opinion, a successful example of how classic beauty can be combined with modern electrical technology.

  • Additional parts were fabricated to complete the vehicle for the SEMA Show.

  • Preparation and completion of two vehicles for the show.
• Presentation:
  • The vehicle was also displayed at the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
  • It was part of the Toyo exhibition and received a lot of attention and praise.
