In the world of Restomod-Restorations One project stands out in particular: a Mercedes-Benz 190E (known as BabyBenz), which not only retains its European flair, but has also been given a transatlantic transformation thanks to a crazy engine swap. The vehicle from Central New York, built by the team around Dom Tucci, Tucci hot rods from Marcy, is much more than just a good-looking 190E. The heart of one is hidden under the hood Ford F-150 Raptor the second generation. Specifically, it is a EcoBoost V6. The radical change gives the classic 190 a completely new dimension. Instead of the standard M102 in-line four-cylinder or the M103 in-line six-cylinder, there is now a tuned one EcoBoost V6 under the hood.

Of course, the new engine only fits thanks to this specially made motor mounts in the 190E. But Tucci Hot Rods didn't just leave it at that Engine change. They equipped the V6 with various components performance increase on. The upgrades include two, among others BorgWarner EFT6758 turbocharger, which can produce more than 30psi of boost pressure. The mods allow the restomod to do incredible things 700 PS to put on the street. This means that the converted 190E surpasses its most potent series brother, the 190 Cosworth, by far in terms of speed and performance. The power is transmitted via a Bowler-Tremec TKX Carbon Edition five-speed manual transmission, coupled to a two-plateclutch kit from Advanced Clutch Technology.

Brakes, chassis, etc. are modified

By the way, at the end of the 190E there is a Subaru STI differential with custom made axles for power transmission to the road. The combination makes the one-off a radical and unique example of German engineering, paired with American power and a lot of creativity. The suspension consists of a kit for an SN95 Mustang and the brakes combined Wilwood Superlite four-piston calipers with 13 inches (approx. 33 cm) large slices. The configuration certainly allows the Benz to handle all corners as if it were decades younger. The project is a cool example of how old classics are given new life through modern technology and innovative ideas.
