Design Velkēs Restomod: 1977 Porsche 911 RSR recreation!

When it comes to reviving classic cars, that is Design Velke, based in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, a real one Tip. And your latest project, a breathtaking recreation of one 1977 Porsche 911 RSR, is currently for sale for an insane $359.900 (approx. EUR 330.000). But we are pretty sure that this unique XNUMX is worth every cent. Visually, however, you can hardly tell the classic from an original 911 RSR from the 70s. We are convinced that only real Porsche connoisseurs will notice the subtle differences. But don't be fooled: beneath the classic shell lies a real masterpiece of engineering and design. Design Velkē started the process with one Bath in acid for the 911 in order to later custom-make all metal body parts.

After a wood protection primer In Detroit the car received its eye-catching green paint. But that is just the beginning of the extensive transformation. The technical upgrade starts with the heart: one customized 3,2 liter engine. This one got 98 mm Mahle cylinder, an original crankshaft, 911 SC cylinder heads, GT3 main bearings, new chain tensioners, custom-made valve springs, stainless steel manifold and much more donated. The engine now overperforms with the tuning 280 PS and also enjoys one oil pump from a 996 (911), completed by a specially developed one Sports exhaust system. Even that one harness is new. It was tailor-made in the Netherlands and stripped down to the bare essentials to reduce clutter and keep everything clean and tidy.

The cabin is only stocked with the essentials!

Dave Welky, owner of Design Velkē, describes the car’s interior as “extremely spartan“. And if you look at the video and photos, it hits the nail on the head. Apart from the three-spoke one Momo sports steering wheel, the individual Instruments and the contemporary one sports seats, the cabin is deliberately kept simple. This underlines the focus of the vehicle: to provide pure, unadulterated driving pleasure. The 1977 Porsche 911 RSR by Design Velkē is not just a homage to bygone times, but a successful symbiosis of classic design and state-of-the-art technology - a dream for every fan and collector.
