Even more diversity: Toyota is expanding the Yaris Cross portfolio with a new sporty top model. The new Yaris Cross GR SPORT is equipped with exclusive details inside and out and ensures even sportier handling with a newly tuned suspension. Advance sales in Europe will start in September.

Exterior

The Yaris Cross GR SPORT features new 18-inch polished ten-spoke alloy wheels. A new rear diffuser and a radiator grille with an exclusive black grid pattern in "Hot Stamp" style and subtle Gazoo Racing badges also set sporty accents. Like all GR SPORT models, the Yaris Cross GR SPORT is available in the exclusive Dynamic Gray exterior colour, which is offered as a two-tone paint finish with black accents.

Interior

The Ultrasuede™ sports seats are upholstered in gray man-made suede and have multi-stage seat heating. The red accent stitching can also be found on the steering wheel and shift lever. Logos on the steering wheel, headrests, start button and instrument display also pick up on the sporty pedigree of Gazoo Racing. In addition, there are inserts in dark silver in the doors and the instrument panel.

Performance

Thanks to the proven GA-B platform, the Yaris Cross GR SPORT has a low center of gravity, a highly rigid body and a balanced chassis. Handling has been improved with a new suspension tuning that gives the driver a more direct steering feel. In addition, the Yaris Cross GR SPORT retains all the qualities that earned the Yaris Cross the title of World Urban Car of the Year 2022. The model combines a large and functional interior with compact dimensions and typical SUV features such as a raised seating position.

The 40:20:40 folding rear bench seat allows the luggage space to be expanded from 397 liters (with the seats up) to up to 1.097 liters. Just like the Elegant and Adventure equipment lines, the Yaris Cross GR SPORT comes with a wide range of standard equipment, including two-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and privacy glass in the rear. The GR SPORT is also equipped with Toyota T-Mate, which combines the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense with other active driving and parking assistance systems.

Hybrid drive

The Yaris Cross GR SPORT is powered by an efficient 1,5 liter hybrid engine. The long stroke, rapid combustion, high compression ratio of 14:1 and powertrain temperature and pressure control ensure a high thermal efficiency of 40 percent. CO₂-Emissions and fuel consumption of the Yaris Cross GR SPORT should be at the level of the Elegant and Adventure equipment lines (homologation pending).

Launched in 2021, the Yaris Cross has since become a consistent bestseller for Toyota in Europe. More than 2022 units were sold in the first half of 77.000 alone. Toyota has thus achieved a share of 7,7 percent in the B-SUV segment.
