For Europe: this is the Toyota Yaris GR Sport (2022)

The GR SPORT model range from Toyota brings more sportiness and dynamism to everyday life. Now the automobile manufacturer has presented the fourth model, the Yaris GR SPORT, which is inspired by Toyota Gazoo Racing. Among other things, it comes with an exclusive exterior color, 18-inch alloy wheels and red applications on the exterior and interior, and it also has a number of technical modifications. The market launch in Europe is the second quarter of 2022.

The new Yaris GR SPORT extends the successful model family around the Yaris, which was voted “Europe's Car of the Year 2021”. The performance-oriented top model GR Yaris has also been awarded: it recently received the prestigious “Golden Steering Wheel 2021” award.

Toyota Yaris GR Sport exterior

Like all GR SPORT models, the Yaris GR SPORT is available in the exclusive Dynamic Gray exterior color, which is offered as a two-tone paint finish with black accents. A radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern and 18-inch alloy wheels with red decorative lines underline the relationship to Gazoo Racing. The T-shaped diffuser at the rear gives the Yaris GR SPORT a confident appearance.

Logos on the steering wheel, headrests, start button and instrument display take up the sporty origins of Gazoo Racing in the interior as well. The seats in all model variants have new fabric covers and red accent stitching, which can also be found on the steering wheel and gear lever. Heated Ultrasuede ™ sports seats are also available as an option. The door and side panels, center console and steering wheel have a dark, silver-colored finish (gun metal silver).

Toyota Yaris GR Sport Performance

The Yaris GR SPORT is optionally available with a 1,5-liter hybrid drive or as a 1,5-liter petrol engine. The manual transmission of the petrol version ensures smooth and comfortable gear changes with automatic speed adjustment when upshifting and downshifting. This also makes starting off from a standstill easier. Compared to the series brother Yaris, both the front and rear suspension have been improved. The shock absorbers respond more convincingly to steering movements and react faster at lower speeds. In addition, the rear suspension springs have been optimized to prevent the body from rocking or the wheels lifting off when accelerating and braking.

Thanks to the electronic power steering of the Yaris GR SPORT, the vehicle responds more quickly to steering movements. Additional struts on the underbody improve body rigidity, handling and stability. The aerodynamics have been improved with additional air deflectors in the front and rear wheel arches. If we get more information about the changes, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply do ours Feed subscribe to.
