Many tuning fans around the world know the crazy renderings by Pixel Picasso Khyzyl Saleem. However, this type of modification is now not only immortalized on paper, but is also increasingly being carried out on real vehicles. The latest example of how renderings can serve as a template for dream cars is the VW Polo 6R/6C1 from the British tuner Curtis Anderson, which we would like to introduce to you in a little more detail today.
VW Polo with widebody
Far from the custom widebody kit, which was designed specifically for this vehicle and is only available in this version in the world, the first thing that immediately catches the eye is of course the purple paintwork of this extreme Volkswagen. But these are by no means the only modifications to the exterior of this extraordinary polo. A complete front bumper from the strictly limited Polo WRC and the headlights in Golf R style also set visual highlights. A carbon roof spoiler and a blackened VW emblem on the tailgate give the car additional sportiness.
In addition to the ultra-wide widebody kit, what is extremely unusual is the subsequently installed fabric folding roof, which brings back the good old days of the 1990s. Of course, with such a pocket-sized car, an Airride chassis from Airlift Performance should not be missing, and this VW also rolls on 17-inch OZ Futura rims. Incidentally, the braking system of this vehicle comes from a Seat Ibiza FR, and is therefore significantly more powerful than the standard stoppers. Last but not least, it should be mentioned that a grill without an emblem was installed to round off the dynamic appearance of the car.
Interior with a racing atmosphere
It felt like no stone was left unturned in the interior. For example, the entire back seat was removed and replaced with a yellow-painted roll cage, which immediately catches the eye. Carbon sports seats called Carrera GT from the DesignTek brand also replaced the standard seats for the front passengers. There are also yellow four-point harnesses from TRS and a sports steering wheel from Renown. Furthermore, the pillars and roof lining were lined with black fabric to give a more valuable impression. Last but not least, there are also various additional instruments for oil pressure, boost pressure and the like in the center console of the car.
A 1,8 liter TFSI turbo petrol engine provides powerful propulsion.
The well-known and popular 1,8-liter turbo, which is used in so many VW Group models around the world, also moved into the front of the VW Polo and found a new home there. Using a K04 turbocharger, ECU remapping and various other modifications, the unit was brought to a whopping 270 HP. Unfortunately, we do not know the torque of the modified engine, nor the performance and top speed of the vehicle.
Our conclusion:
- A dream for all fans of the Volkswagen brand, created by the British tuner Curtis Anderson. We also give it a thumbs up.
