1904 was founded August Horch Automobilwerke GmbH in Zwickau by August Horch. From the year 1927, the company produced the Horch 8 or the 850. There were produced over 13.900 pieces. The car had an eight-cylinder engine and up to 5 liter displacement. Five years later followed the Horch 830 / 930 with a smaller V-engine. Thus, the Horch cars in the German Reich 1930er years, the best-selling car brand of the luxury class. In June 1932 followed the incorporation into the Auto Union AG, later known as AUDI, Also Horch had to stop the car production due to the war. After the Second World War, the company was nationalized and served to produce the well-known Trabant, Today the Sachsenring Body Modules GmbH is located on the former Horch site. In the field of autotuning, there are many possibilities for tuning for real Horch fans. Soon new on the market and the adversary of the Maybach is the Horch Audi A8.
