The Abarth 595 Range is updated with the new versions of 595, Turismo, Competizione and Esseesse. New interior design, new colors and new details show the two souls of the brand with the scorpion in the logo: performance and style. A new year and a new range for the Abarth 595: 2020 was a year of sporting and commercial success in which, among other things, two new special series were presented - 595 Monster Energy Yamaha and 595 Scorpioneoro. The brand with the scorpion “stands out” in the new year. Because now the new 595 range is presented. In different ways, the vehicles perfectly embody the brand's iconic values - performance and style.
Performance and style in the name of the Scorpio!
The four variants of the updated product line - 595, Turismo, Competizione and Esseesse - underline the nuances of the Abarth character with fresh colors, fine materials, new style details, advanced technology and extravagant customization options. “The Abarth 595 is a success story. With its spirit, this special vehicle has captured the hearts of thousands of car enthusiasts all over the world. Around the brand with the scorpion, the series has brought together a community that is unique in the automotive landscape - and we are very proud of that. In the year that has just ended, Abarth's positive trend continued and its market share rose by almost 50 percent compared to the previous year. This success is closely related to the personality of this little super sports car and the passion of its many fans, ”said Luca Napolitano, Brand Manager of Fiat and Abarth in the EMEA region.

Abarth 595, Turismo, Competizione and Esseesse
All models in the Abarth 595 range are available as sedan and convertible versions. They are characterized by specific features that underline their athletic nature because they help optimize performance. The four equipment variants are available with output levels from 107 to 132 kW (145 to 180 hp) and comply with the current Euro 6d final emissions standard.
The 595 marks the unmistakable entry into the world of Abarth. As standard, it offers everything that distinguishes a vehicle from the brand with the scorpion. Driving fun is guaranteed, especially if you activate the "Sport Mode", recognizable by the glowing scorpion. Pressing this button on the dash affects maximum torque transfer, power steering calibration, and engine response to the accelerator pedal - making the car sharper. In terms of infotainment technology, the 595 version includes the UconnectTM 7-inch touchscreen radio as standard. To the delight of Abarth enthusiasts, there is the new start and shutdown screen MY21. The setup for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is always on board as standard, the same applies to the automatic air conditioning.
Fast acceleration and efficient braking are part of sporty driving. The new 595 is therefore equipped with a high-performance braking system developed for Abarth. Thanks to the internally ventilated front brake discs (284 millimeters in diameter) and the rear brake discs with 240 millimeters in diameter, the 595 offers maximum safety even at the limit. The 595 Turismo and the Competizione have also been updated technically and stylistically and offer customers two different options for experiencing the world of Abarth up close in everyday life.
The 595 Turismo is a typical Italian granturismo. He is characterized by values such as style and comfort. It is therefore primarily intended for people who cultivate an urban lifestyle and who self-confidently live out their individuality.
The 595 Turismo has a refreshingly different interior. Starting with the exclusive leather seats with their new surfaces and the option of choosing from various color combinations in the interior - including the new color racing helmet brown.
On the other hand, the 595 Competizione is aimed at fans of performance and unlimited sportiness - i.e. everyone who wants to have just as fun on the road as on the racetrack. The Competizione is a car for sports drivers who want to turn every trip into an extraordinary experience.
The main new feature of the 595 Competizione is the new color variant Rally Blue, a matte tone inspired by the legendary Fiat 131 Abarth Rallye of the 1970s. The new 17-inch “Montecarlo” alloy wheels are in turn an allusion to the rims of the six-time rally world champion car Lancia Delta HF Integrale from the 1990s. To make the vehicle even more sporty, the Abarth Body Kit specific to this version is available in combination with the new colors Rally Blue or Scorpione Black. Inside, in addition to the newly designed sport mode button, there are other fresh character features, including an Alcantara-covered dashboard, new leather seats and a carbon gear lever.
For the top version, the 595 Esseesse, the Abarth team, consisting of engineers and designers, has developed new titanium tailpipes for the Akrapovič exhaust system - and this ensures pure emotions with maximum driving pleasure both on the road and on the track. In addition, the 595 Esseesse gets a new dashboard in non-reflective black.
All models are equipped as standard with polyelliptical headlights and LED daytime running lights. Alternatively, bi-xenon headlights are available on request. The steering wheel has a flat bottom and a center of gravity that effectively supports sporty driving. The instrument panel, for its part, ensures excellent legibility. In addition, the pressure gauge lights up white to make reading easier and faster.
Motors, gears, technology
The new Abarth 595 series is equipped with the 1,4 T jet engine that also powers the German and Italian Formula 4 racing cars.
The engine is available in three output levels: In the Abarth 595 the unit has an output of 107 kW (145 PS), while the Turismo version puts 121 kW (165 PS) on the road. The most powerful engine is reserved for the 595 Competizione and 595 Esseesse variants. With 132 kW (180 PS), these vehicles are aimed specifically at those who are looking for the spirit of motorsport and therefore particularly focus on performance.
The Competizione and Esseesse are also fitted with the Garrett GT1446 turbocharger as standard. A mechanical, self-locking differential improves traction even in difficult grip conditions, such as uneven road conditions. Koni FSD shock absorbers on both axles and Brembo brakes with fixed aluminum brake calipers are also part of motorsport technology for the road.
All variants of the 1.4 T-Jet engine are coupled with a mechanical transmission. The semi-automatic five-speed manual transmission "Abarth Competizione" is also available as an option from the Turismo version. It also enables gear changes using paddle shifters on the steering wheel and thus shortens shift times even further.
infotainment
The new 595 series comes standard with the Uconnect ™ system with a 7-inch touchscreen - a fast platform with a high-resolution screen and DAB + digital radio. Apple CarPlay Setup and Android Auto ™ * are standard, the navigation system is available as an option. The start and shutdown screens for the infotainment system are also new in the MY21.
Anyone who appreciates perfect music enjoyment can order the sophisticated and powerful BeatsAudioTM sound system for all models: With seven speakers, digital eight-channel amplifier and a music output of 480 watts, the system meets the highest demands. In detail, the BeatsAudioTM sound system has two tweeters installed in the A-pillars, two mid-range speakers (165 mm in diameter) in the front doors, two full-range speakers (165 mm) in the rear side panels and a subwoofer with 200 Millimeters in diameter in the trunk.
The new communication campaign
“Tuned to your style” is the slogan of the communication campaign accompanying the launch of the new Abarth 595 range. The spot produced by the creative agency Independent Ideas gives an overview of the two souls of the Abarth models. On the one hand, it focuses on the combination of performance and unmistakable style, as embodied in the 595 Turismo. On the other hand, the 595 Competizione shows the power and dynamics of an extremely sporty automobile.
The video begins with a detailed presentation of the exclusive design of the 595 Turismo from the brand with the Scorpio. The viewer is given the impression of the character of a car that is part of the lifestyle. You accompany the extravagant vehicle on its way and then see how the baton is passed on to the 595 Competizione. The driver's style and environment also suddenly change. Each element is now transformed in such a way that it matches the characteristics of pure sportiness. After all, the word “tuned” literally means “tuned to specific conditions”. If you combine it with the term “style”, it becomes clear how Abarth offers its customers the opportunity to express their own personality: They can choose the model that best suits their personal style from a fresh, sporty and exclusive range.
