The ABT - 630PS & Bodykit goes on the ABT Sportsline Audi R8 4S

The last highlight is aired and it is probably the most spectacular of the tuner ABT Sportsline! Yesterday we reported that the Bavarian refiner 4 "civilian“Takes vehicles and a bolide from the ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport racing team (Formula E) to the Geneva Motor Show. While pictures and technical information about the TT RS-R, the RS6 + Avant  and the ABT SQ7 Since yesterday at the latest, the secret of the brand new ABT Audi R8 is now being revealed, which thanks to its increased performance now has a whopping 630 PS. Compared to the standard output of 610 PS, this is a significant jump when you consider that the 5,2 l V10 engine is a purely naturally aspirated engine which of course does not even spit out 30% more power by means of chip tuning. ABT achieves the performance plus thanks to optimized air flow in connection with a TÜV-tested stainless steel sports exhaust system including high-quality carbon twin tailpipe trims and thus impressively proves its know-how. One highlight, however, is undisputedly the ABT body kit, which consists of a subtle front lip, front, side and rear blades, optimized wheel arch ventilation and an open rear panel made of carbon.

The additional aerodynamic parts not only provide an improved contact pressure of the athlete but also for an even beefier and sportier look than the factory already is the case. Of course, a new wheel set may not be missing here and so are two different types of rims in 19 or 20 inches available and in Geneva, the red specimen will probably stand on ABT HIGH PERFORMANCE GR forged wheels in 20 inches and anodized black paint. The new rims in the wheel arch are particularly well fitting because ABT has developed special thread springs for the R8 which ensure that the body is lowered by approx. 30 mm. And the interior is refined discreetly on request and as with the other vehicles can of course also on an individual leather interior, individual carbon applications, an entrance lighting or floor mats including ABT logo fall back.

A very important feature is the note that the R8 has received a weight reduction of a whopping 50 kg, which we largely attribute to the new stainless steel sports exhaust system, but a few other components should certainly also contribute, but so far we have no more detailed details. While the production model accelerates from 3,2 to 0 km / h in 100 seconds, we assume that the ABT version can achieve it in 3 seconds or even a tenth less thanks to increased performance and weight reduction. We hope that we will get more information about this soon and we also assume that a video from Geneva will follow. If we get more information about the ABT R8, there is of course, as always, an update for this report. Update

News from 07.08.2017

The days we received some pictures of the ABT R8 Spyder from 2016 which of course you should also see. The traditional company ABT Sportsline refines not only the closed version but has also been some time ago the Spyder. In contrast to the vehicle above, however, a more discreet body kit has been chosen, with carbon bumpers and a sports exhaust system, the new components provide 50 kg weight savings. This R8 is the ABT R8 Spyder Street and, compared to the coupe presented above, the difference is that neither the discreet front splitter, nor the shoulders on the side skirts or the fixed rear spoiler are installed. The rest is identical and this also applies to the performance increase on 560 PS. Have fun with the new pictures and videos!
