Did you know that the first generation of the Audi Q7 (4L) was presented to the public at the IAA in September 2005? There are already 12 years that you really don't see the big Ingolstadt SUV! The study served as the basis Audi Pikes Peak Quattro, which was presented in Detroit in 2003 at the then motor show. The first generation of the Q7 is still based on the “E” platform, which was also used by the VW Touareg and the then Porsche Cayenne. Like its group brothers, the Q7 was built in Slovakia in Bratislava (Slovakia). Features of Audi's first SUV were the permanent all-wheel drive (quattro) which, with its power distribution of 40:60 (front axle & rear axle), ensures optimum traction. But there was also an optional third row of seats (for two people up to 1,60 meters tall), something that the competition couldn't offer. I'm sure you're wondering how to get to this seat? No, not through the trunk! 😀 You can reach the third row of seats by simply folding the backrest of the seat / bench in the second row of seats forward.
Those who regularly transport fewer people could also order a second row of seats with two individual seats and their own center console. As with almost all modern SUVs, the engine and transmission concept of the Q7 is intended more for the road than the off-road sector. There is no reduction for off-road driving and the self-supporting body with its independent suspension ensures that the Q7 is much less suitable for tough off-road use than, for example, a Jeep Wrangler. That about the Q7 in general and now about the example of Folienwerk Bodensee. The guys from Stockach grabbed an AUDI Q7 4L with a 4.2L V8 and gave it a spectacular wrap from 3M called "Gloss Flip psychedelic". The different colored shimmering foiling looks phenomenal on the large SUV and comes into its own in connection with the many glossy black lacquered accents, as well as elegant carbon details.
The large radiator grille including the Audi emblem and the air intakes in the bumper were painted black. In addition, the taillights have been discreetly darkened and the rear side windows including the rear window have been provided with a sun protection film that brings a tint of 85%. And a set of new aluminum rims from ABT Sportsline was also installed and, with its spokes curved in the direction of travel, makes the overall impression of the Q7 look much more dynamic. So that the wheels sit so perfectly in the wheel arch, a subtle lowering was installed, but unfortunately we are not aware of any information at the moment.
