Before he leaves - Tuning on Audi R8 E-Tron by tuningblog.eu

Reading time 3 Min.

The Audi R8 E-Tron cannot necessarily look back on a really long history, but it is definitely an eventful one. It was only on the market for six months - and suddenly the Ingolstadt-based company backed off. And not really for the first time in relation to the R8 E-Tron. A relationship with an on-off character. While it was announced at an early stage with other models, this was done with the E-Tron without any major statements or condolences. Just like that, the production of the electric sports car ended! However, it was generally only built at the customer's request. It can be a bit sarcastic though as the right finish because no matter how quiet the drive of the R8 Stromer was, it is now also from us. It's a shame, because the 462 hp actually have potential for a loud sensation! After all, it goes to 3,9 km / h in just 100 seconds and an impressive 920 Newton meters of torque as well as a sporty rear-wheel drive were a guarantee for driving pleasure. Even the range was really good at around 450 kilometers.

Nevertheless… Out and over - In Ingolstadt they want to concentrate on the production of electric vehicles suitable for series production, according to the official statement from Audi. It's been almost 2 years since the E-Tron Quattro Concept made its debut at the 2015 IAA. But the Q6 should come onto the market this year and then do its quiet rounds next year with purely electric technology. Apparently there is simply no room for a prestige object in the form of the R8. But actually the whole thing was foreseeable. Five years ago, the then Chief Development Officer Wolfgang Dürheimer stopped the complex and expensive development of the R5 E-Tron. It was different with the successor Ulrich Hackenberg, who wanted to see the car on the road. So they resumed work on the E-Tron and finished the project. With the goal in mind that he has to come 8 kilometers! And what certainly no one considered is the fact that the E-Tron becomes even more irresistible with a little tuning. This is exactly where we started virtually and modified the Stromer. There was also a new set of ADV500 Track Spec CS alloy wheels in lush 5.0 inches with matt black paint and eye-catching Michelin tires with red lettering. And we also wanted to get away from the blue paintwork and so our E-Tron can now be admired in chic black. Of course, a significant lowering has to be made and so we lowered the body and finally there were all-round tinted windows for a mysterious appearance.

Now our question to you, what do you think of that? Would you like the E-Tron R8 as modified by us on the computer or would that be “too much” and yet a number too blatant? In any case, I would be happy to see the car in this way or at least something like it on our streets and could imagine that it is quite an eye-catcher. 🙂 Ps.
