What does chip tuning bring? A question that many ask. And a large part of them only very rarely get a specific answer. Some people just install a so-called tuning box, which is usually not as effective as a "real" chip tuning, and the other part allows their vehicle to be flashed on the engine control unit using new software, but a test bench run with before / after measurements is in rarely in both cases. In the end, it is often just a "perceived" increase in performance that the vehicle delivers, without a specific comparison / proof. But in the current video from CarWow there is now proof that chip tuning can make a significant difference.
BMW M3 tuning vs. series
Of course, this is always a prerequisite a "good" chip tuning software from a professional tuner. Controls in the 10-minute clip Matt Watson a performance-enhanced one Stage 1 M3 xDrive with 600 PS & 750 Nm torque in black by Wrench Studios against a 510 PS & 650 NM Series M3 in Sao Paulo yellow. Several tests with a standing and rolling start should show whether the Tuning M3 can drive away from the production vehicle. However, we do not know whether the vehicles actually had identical key data ex works. We assume, however, that they were slightly upwards, as is typical for BMW, but were actually tied.
