Fantastic - BMW 2002 with S14 engine by Jay Leno

In my opinion, BMW founded the “driving pleasure” with this vehicle - the BMW 2002! The 2002 was intended as a sporty mid-range sedan from the then aspiring manufacturer from Munich. Ex-talk show host Jay Leno, who is also known as a comedian and especially as a car collector, thinks that the 2002 is not “just any BMW”. Since tuning is also part of his passion, it goes without saying that Leno doesn’t have an ordinary and serial production 2002, even though that would be special. The absolute highlight is the fact that under the hood of the classic car the 2,3-liter S14 four-cylinder from the legendary BMW M3 of the E30 series from 1989 tinkers. The performance is implemented by means of a five-speed manual transmission that has been replaced by the standard four-speed transmission. And a lot has also been done visually. The widened fenders, for example, come from the 2002 Turbo and accommodate 16-inch models from Alpina with particularly wide tires.

And as you can see, the suspension has undergone a significant revision because the 2002 is much lower. The am Leno 2002 only experts in the field were involved, you can see at first glance and so it is not surprising that the resolution reveals that Marc Norris' “Bavarian Workshop” was responsible for it. Already the first seconds of the video show that the Californians have also significantly modified the soundscape because the 2002 screeches down the American streets. There were also a few subtle changes in the interior and there is a small highlight at the rear. Here is an emblazoned M2 logo that makes the 2002 the direct ancestor of the M2 F87. Maybe more details about the tuning will follow in the next few days. Until then you can subscribe to the post and as soon as it receives an update you will be informed by us.

Should we receive further details, we will of course add them to the post in a timely manner.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
