What would be your first thought if you own a BMW X4 M40i and for example our report on the 425PS Versus Performance M2 or the Shiftech version with 401PS read? You would find that BMW has installed the N55B30 six-cylinder in-line engine with bi-turbo / direct injection and Valvetronic in both vehicles. The next question would inevitably arise why this engine in the X4 should "only" provide 360PS? We think the question is completely justified and the Dähler Design & Technik GmbH team apparently saw it very similarly. As almost the first tuner, Dähler gives the new BMW X4 M40i F26 a lot of legs and pushes the performance of the X4 up to 430 PS & 590 Newton meters of torque in three stages. With this performance plus, the X4 is then able to accelerate from zero to 4,5 km / h in just 100 seconds and only at impressive speeds
270 km / h top speed is over. One must not forget that it is an SUV and not an athlete, but considering the acceleration times, it would not be to blame if this circumstance gets more and more sidelined. Of course, more power also requires more dynamism and sportiness in the chassis and of course the brakes. On request, Dähler can install an eight-piston brake system with 400 millimeter brake discs and, in addition, a coilover kit that is specially tailored to the X4 and can be adjusted in 18 stages.

The BMW X4 M40i

If you want, you can also fill the wheel arches with the in-house Dähler CDC1 alloy wheels in 20 or 21 inches. The sound is of course very important with an M-engine, and especially with an increase in performance, you want to hear it and not just feel it. The Dähler team also has a solution for this and quickly screwed an in-house stainless steel exhaust system under the X4, which makes a powerful impression with its 4 tailpipes. Equipped in this way, many a standard M2 might be surprised at a visit in the rearview mirror, but I can't and would not really imagine the Dähler X4 in the field. The team of Dähler Design & Technik GmbH published the X4 on its website and we are of course pleased to be able to show you the pictures. After the extensive tuning cure that the X4 was allowed to endure, it is optically, also thanks to a Dähler rear diffuser and front spoiler, now definitely much sportier, more powerful and more dynamic than the production version without exaggerating. So if you have been secretly thinking about buying an X4 M40i for a long time, or if you are already a happy owner, Dähler is certainly an interesting starting point when it comes to differentiating the vehicle from the production model.

As far as the changes to optics or technology are concerned, we have tried to find out all the details. As always, we have listed what came out of it in the lower part of the article in a small summary for you. If you discover any more changes that we have missed then please use our comment box and let us know, we will then add them to the article as soon as possible.
