With this new supercar, BRABUS is putting a new crown on the veteran off-road vehicle. Based on the current Mercedes-AMG G 63, a high-performance off-roader with extravagant equipment was created, which is built in a limited edition. This unique off-road vehicle is named after the new BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 displacement engine. The 4,5 liter biturbo engine has an output of 662 kW / 900 PS and produces a maximum torque of 1.250 Nm. This power plant gives this vehicle, which weighs at least 2560 kilograms, an acceleration that few sports cars can achieve: after just 3,7 seconds, the exclusive all-wheel-drive car is already 100 km / h. But the new BRABUS supercar not only fascinates with its enormous performance potential, but also with its extravagant look: the BRABUS ROCKET EDITION wide version with sporty carbon elements was specially developed for this special model. Special BRABUS Monoblock Z 24-inch high-tech forged wheels were also specially developed for this new model, which underline the sporty character of this automobile with BRABUS aero discs made of exposed carbon. They are fitted with extremely wide high-performance road tires up to size 355/25 R 24 on the rear axle.
Further targeted accents are set with the red elements on the body and wheels. Special paintwork such as the "Stealth Gray" shown here on a BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION supercar are also part of the portfolio of this limited series. The second vehicle shown is painted in “Signature Black”.
BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior
An extraordinary, tailor-made BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior in the finest black leather with decorative stitching in contrasting colors was also created especially for these vehicles. In addition to individual seats and a center console with extendable tables in the rear, the interior also includes sporty carbon inlays and newly color-coordinated elements in the cockpit. The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION is available from 571.270,21 euros (price including 19 percent VAT in Germany!).
High-performance engines that combine performance and stability in the highest perfection have been the trademark of all BRABUS supercars for more than four decades. With the new BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION, the Bottrop-based company, which is accredited as a vehicle manufacturer by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, is presenting a new top-of-the-line displacement engine in the body of the Mercedes G-Class.
The name giver for this exclusive SUV is the BRABUS 900 ROCKET V8 biturbo displacement engine, which is based on the engine of the G 63 and produces an enormous 231 kW / 315 PS more power in comparison. The recipe for this is as complex as it is tried and tested: more displacement produces more power. This is why the cylinder volume of the eight-cylinder, four-valve, biturbo engine is being expanded from the standard 3 cm³ to 982 cm³ in the in-house high-tech engine construction department.
Not only are the cylinder bores enlarged to 84 millimeters and appropriately sized forged pistons installed. A special crankshaft milled from solid and finely balanced, together with forged high-performance connecting rods, extends the stroke to exactly 100 millimeters.
BRABUS special turbocharger with larger compressor unit
The newly designed charging system is just as elementary for the enormous increase in performance: two BRABUS special turbochargers with a larger compressor unit and a special trunk group with reinforced axial bearings produce a maximum boost pressure of 1,4 bar. Two BRABUS BoostXtra valves create an exciting blow-off noise when the load changes.
Since such a powerful power plant also needs more breathing air, a RAM-AIR intake system was integrated into the carbon-fiber radiator grille. At the same time, the fuel supply is also adjusted using special high-pressure pumps. The V8 is optically fine-tuned with the BRABUS engine cover, which was made with red carbon fibers.
The BRABUS ROCKET 900 displacement engine also includes larger downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters and metal catalytic converters. The final link in the chain is the BRABUS ROCKET high-performance stainless steel exhaust system with exhaust flap control for active sound management. At the push of a button on the center console, you can switch between robust V8 sound in sport mode or discreet whispering in "coming home" mode. As has been characteristic of a BRABUS sports exhaust system for the G-model for decades, there are also two tailpipes placed on each side of the vehicle in front of the rear wheels. These are framed by a carbon fiber panel with an integrated Rocket Launch Ambience Light for a particularly sporty and unique appearance.
900 hp and a torque of 1.250 Nm
The precise coordination of all high-performance components by the BRABUS engine engineers and electronics technicians is the result of extensive test bench tests and extensive test drives. The professional execution of all work guarantees not only an optimal performance output, but also a flawless stability. BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.
The enormous effort is reflected in unique performance values: 662 kW / 900 PS at just 6200 rpm are just as much a top value in this vehicle category as the enormous maximum torque of 1.250 Nm, which is already available at 2900 tours. In the vehicle, this value is electronically limited to 1.050 Nm.
The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION thus achieves driving performance like a thoroughbred sports car: From a standing start, the more than 2,5-ton SUV catapults itself to 3,7 km / h in just 100 seconds. The top speed is 280 km / h in consideration of the tires limited.
3,7 seconds on Tempo 100
Of course, the new BRABUS supercar not only fascinates with its high performance, but also with its extravagant look. A new variant of the BRABUS WIDESTAR wide version has been specially developed for the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION, which sets emphatically sporty accents with additional carbon fiber applications. This special model includes a front spoiler with side flaps on both sides and a radiator grille with integrated RAM-AIR-Intake air inlets, ROCKET Startup Glow and illuminated ROCKET logo. Also new are the carbon fender attachments for the WIDESTAR extensions on the front and rear axles, an emphatically sporty styled rear wing on the roof and a diffuser for the BRABUS rear apron.
The body modification makes the current G-model appear even more massive and makes it ten centimeters wider than the production car. The BRABUS WIDESTAR aprons at the front and rear, which replace the standard bumpers, as well as tailor-made elements that illuminate the side skirts with LEDs in the dark, create perfect connections to the extensions. In keeping with the athletic design of this special model, the air inlets in the front apron with the integrated daytime running lights, the outlets on the back of all extensions, and the bonnet attachment and the cover on the rear door are made of carbon fiber with a glossy coating. The high-tech compound is also used in the side mirror housings as well as the trim strips and door handles. On the underside of the running boards, a BRABUS Light Carpet illuminates the floor on both sides of the vehicle in the dark, thus enabling safe entry and exit.
Red painted elements on the over-G!
Red painted elements such as the two signature stripes in the radiator grille, the clasps with ROCKET emblem, the side spoiler flaps on the front and rear and the diffuser fins offer colored contrasts and ensure the unmistakable BRABUS look.
The WIDESTAR extensions create space for BRABUS Monoblock Z "PLATINUM EDITION" light alloy wheels with a diameter of 24 inches. They are manufactured using high-end forging technology and thus offer maximum strength. The ten-spoke rims were painted black for this supercar and provided with a red pinstriping on the outer flange. The BRABUS ROCKET 900 aero discs made of carbon fiber complete the exciting look.
The dimensions of the wheel set newly developed for this supercar are just as extraordinary as the look: The front axle is 10Jx24 with 295/30 ZR 24 road tires. An even more extreme format can be found under the rear extensions: 12Jx24 with 355/25 ZR 24 tires.
The chassis engineers developed the new BRABUS RideControl aluminum coilover kit especially for this special model to match the road tires, which are preferably made by long-term technology partners Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA. The front axle struts and rear axle shock absorbers with integrated heat sinks are milled from solid. This means that the supercar can be lowered by a maximum of 45 millimeters. The damping can be regulated using the standard drive-select switch.
Every supercar of the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION impresses not only with its enormous performance and its exclusive look, which, as shown here on the vehicle with a special “Stealth Gray” paint finish, can also be customized in color according to the buyer's wishes. The interior was also given a high-quality finish down to the last detail.
For this supercar, the BRABUS upholstery created a particularly elegant BRABUS MASTERPIECE equipment in black leather, which not only impresses with its perfect workmanship down to the last detail with millimeter-precise, crest-shaped stitching on the seats, panels and the footwell, which is also upholstered with leather: as a contrast there are exact, colored decorative seams. With the supercar painted in “Stealth Gray”, these and all controls are designed to match the color of the car. The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION in “Signature Black” is set off with red threads. Furthermore, a total of 206 cockpit elements from switches to loudspeaker covers and ventilation nozzles as well as all panels and handles were glazed in "ROCKET RED". Another BRABUS option is the ambient lighting for the ventilation nozzles.
Highly gloss-sealed carbon panels in the cockpit emphasize the sporty design of this special model, as do the pedals and door locking pins made of aluminum and the stainless steel door sill trims with illuminated BRABUS logo, which can change color in the same way as the ambient lighting. In keeping with the performance potential, the BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION is equipped with a speedometer up to 300 km / h.
In the rear, instead of a rear bench seat, there are two individual seats with numerous comfort functions such as multi-contour adjustment, memory and integrated seat ventilation and heating. In between, the BRABUS center console was integrated, which was provided with the same fine leather and the contrasts that match the rest of the luxury interior. It not only serves as a comfortable armrest for the passengers in the rear: Extendable tables are just as suitable for working with a notebook or tablet as they are for reading a book, a magazine or important files.
BRABUS Touch Control Panel in 4,3 inch format
With the BRABUS Touch Control Panel in 4,3 inch format, which shows an analog clock face with BRABUS 900 illustration in standby mode, not only the seat adjustment can be operated: It can also be used to access the standard COMAND system of the G. -Class can be accessed and thus the sound system can be turned down or up or muted from the rear. The reading lights can also be controlled with this control element.
A smartphone or tablet can be connected to the COMAND system and, of course, also be supplied with charging power via a USB multimedia interface, which is conveniently inserted into the console at the top. Two cupholders cool or warm the drinks of the rear passengers. Another important feature of the console is the integrated cooling compartment, which is accessible from both seats.
The BRABUS overhead console with additional instruments for outside temperature, speed and time has been integrated into the headliner so that the passengers in the rear are always well informed.
Of course, every buyer of a BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION can individually configure their supercar down to the last detail, which of course also includes the colored design of the body and interior. The BRABUS 900 ROCKET EDITION is available in a limited edition of only 25 vehicles hung up. The first ten supercars will be delivered this year. A total of 2022 vehicles will then be produced by the end of 25.
