The BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK: off-roader based on the G63 AMG!

The BRABUS XLP features an exceptional high-performance model based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 - a supercar for real car connoisseurs. The latest model, the BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK, redefines the concept of all-wheel drive in a unique way! This 6×6 based on the G-model not only impresses with the loading area behind the passenger compartment. As the name suggests, the supercar has an extra axle and moves on six wheels - all with four-wheel drive! This 6,18 meter long and 2,09 meter wide BRABUS 6×6 supercar is powered by a BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 biturbo with a displacement of 4,5 liters, which is visible through the window of the BRABUS "Powerview" hood. This powerful engine has two special high-performance turbochargers and achieves 662 kW / 900 hp, with a maximum torque of 1.250 Nm, which is electronically limited to 1.050 Nm.

In combination with a nine-speed transmission and the six-wheel drive, the BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK reaches a speed of 5,2 km/h in just 100 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h. The BRABUS high-performance pickup not only impresses with its impressive engine power, but also with its off-road capabilities. A longer ladder frame allows for a pickup body and an extra axle. With portal axles specially designed for the XLP and independent wheel suspension on both rear axles, the ground clearance is increased to an impressive 47,3 cm, which further improves the off-road characteristics.

The BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK rides on six forged BRABUS Monoblock HD wheels with 325/55 R 22 all-terrain tires. The nickname "SUPERBLACK" not only refers to the shiny black body, which is complemented by sporty visible carbon elements, but also to the exclusive interior. Inside, the finest leather in "Mondial Black" predominates, which is combined with gray seams and sporty carbon elements. The BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK presented here is offered for €1.411.340 (price in Germany including 19 percent VAT).

BRABUS XLP high-performance pickups

Ever since it was founded in 1977, BRABUS has been synonymous with high-performance vehicles and expert tuning. In 2020, the offer was expanded to include tailor-made body construction. Since then, the BRABUS XLP high-performance pickups based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 have not only attracted admiring glances, but also enrich the first-class vehicle collections of car enthusiasts worldwide. The latest masterpiece from BRABUS is the XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK, which brings even more exclusivity to the model range as part of the Monochrome Design series.

The BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK: off-roader based on the G63 AMG!

The engineers, technicians and designers at BRABUS have developed an innovative concept for the fusion of the terms "XLP" and "6×6" in an impressive supercar and perfected it into one of the most impressive vehicles on the market. The construction of the BRABUS steel module for the chassis was realized using the latest design and simulation software in order to maintain the high torsional strength of the original frame. This robust element replaces the standard rear axle and houses two special BRABUS developments: Both rear axles, which are designed as independent wheel suspensions, use the portal axle concept just like the front wheel suspensions.

To realize this concept, special wheel carriers with an integrated differential were designed, increasing the ground clearance to 47,3 cm compared to the standard chassis. The components required for this are made of high-strength aluminum. This applies not only to the wheel carriers and all wishbones, but also to a new carrier for the independent wheel suspension of the portal axle on the front axle and the axle housings of the two rear axles, which are also designed in a portal design.

KW special chassis made of titanium-coated aluminum

In line with this special design, the chassis technicians from BRABUS, in cooperation with their technology partner KW, have designed a special chassis made of titanium-coated aluminum. This robust system is precisely tuned for the weight, high center of gravity and six-wheel construction, with damping adjustable right from the cockpit. The extended frame not only supports the passenger cabin, which features a new rear end and heated window, but also a tailor-made load floor. This loading area, which is optically connected to the cabin by a special cover with visible carbon elements on both sides, had to be extended due to the double rear axle and therefore offers a larger usable loading space.

For the XLP 6×6, BRABUS has produced new side walls with built-in carbon storage boxes. In addition, a robust steel floor was manufactured, which is planked with soft teak and bears two BRABUS logos as well as airline rails for attaching the load. The side-opening tailgate is also made of steel. This material mix ensures maximum strength and resilience of the loading area and at the same time ensures a perfect fit. A double matte black coated bar, to which two powerful rear-facing LED lights are attached, makes loading and unloading the truck bed easier in the dark and completes the pickup look.

An integral part of the striking BRABUS pickup design are six custom-made wheels. They are specially designed for eight-hole mounting on the portal axles and are manufactured using the latest forging and machining technology. The black-painted BRABUS Monoblock HD light-alloy wheels with their eight solid spokes are designed for the high wheel loads in off-road driving. They are mounted on the BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK in size 9.5Jx22 under the wide spacers with visible carbon attachments. The size 325/55 R 22 in All-Terrain specification was selected as the optimum tire.

lots of visible carbon on the off-road monster

With its exceptional off-road capability, the design of the BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK presents itself in an impressive off-road style. In addition to the striking pickup body and the special six-wheel chassis, the vehicle impresses with its visible carbon and glossy protective paint. The front view is dominated by the BRABUS bumper, which is derived from the WIDESTAR widebody version for the current G-Class. Two large air vents, framed by visible carbon elements, supply the radiator and front brakes with fresh air. Furthermore, the BRABUS front part contains a robust protective frame and a winch with a pulling capacity of 4500 kilograms.

The unique look of the supercar is also underlined by the carbon radiator grille with two large air intakes and the extra-wide fender flares with carbon inserts. The BRABUS Powerview bonnet, which is mainly made of this high-tech material, has a window on the top that reveals the powerful heart of this pickup. The BRABUS wind deflector positioned above the windshield, also made of carbon, is also uniquely designed. This element not only directs the airstream over the roof rack, but also houses three powerful LED lighting units that enable daylight-like lighting at the touch of a button. The side view of the vehicle is characterized by the wide fender flares with their visible carbon covers and the carbon fiber inserts attached behind them.

The same material was also used for the protective body strips and the upper bezels of the side mirrors. Not only the steps adapted to the extended wheelbase ensure entry and exit at the considerable height, but also electrically extendable steps. LED lights in the extensions that illuminate the running boards and underfloor lighting that illuminate the ground next to the vehicle provide additional safety in the dark. Another practical BRABUS extra that makes it easier for passengers to access the rear bench seat are special door hinges that allow an opening angle of 90 degrees.

Red carbon engine cover with BRABUS 900 logo

The rear of the vehicle features an impressive BRABUS design: the WIDESTAR rear apron with carbon underride protection is perfectly matched to the flared fenders. A visible carbon strip on the tailgate with engraved BRABUS lettering and door handles with inlaid BRABUS lettering underscore the noble origins of this supercar. The bonnet offers a view through a window of the red carbon engine cover with a BRABUS 900 logo, which draws the attention of those in the know to the unique engine at work here, which was manufactured with the greatest precision in the high-tech engine factory of the luxury manufacturer Bottrop.

The engine recipe follows a long tradition at BRABUS: more displacement means more power! In order to bring the V8 of the G 63 to BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 Biturbo specification, it was completely dismantled and extensively modified. The cylinder bores were enlarged to 84 millimeters using the latest machines. In addition, there are special forged pistons with an adapted diameter and modified profile for optimized combustion. Forged, precisely balanced high-performance connecting rods connect these to the special crankshaft made from a single piece and finely balanced with a stroke that has been extended to exactly 100 millimeters. These measures increase displacement from the standard 3 cm³ to 982 cm³.

However, that alone is not enough to achieve the targeted additional 231 kW / 315 hp compared to the standard engine. The newly developed supercharging system also contributes to this: Two BRABUS special turbochargers with a larger compressor unit and a special core assembly with reinforced axial bearings generate a maximum boost pressure of 1,4 bar. Two BRABUS BoostXtra adapters also give the system an appealing sound: they produce an exciting blow-off noise when the load changes. Since such a powerful engine also requires an increased air supply, a RAM-AIR intake system was integrated into the visible carbon radiator grille. In order to increase the fuel supply accordingly, special high-pressure pumps were installed.

BRABUS ROCKET 900 displacement engine

The BRABUS ROCKET 900 displacement engine system includes extended downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters, special particle filters and metal catalytic converters. In addition, the system is rounded off by a specially adapted BRABUS stainless steel high-performance exhaust system for the extended wheelbase of the 6×6. This has an active exhaust flap control for flexible sound management. In sport mode, a strong V8 sound can be heard, while in "Coming Home" mode, an unobtrusive hum dominates. The exhaust pipes are typically attached to the sides in front of the rear wheels and are surrounded by an elegant visible carbon finisher with an integrated red ROCKET Launch Ambience Light.

The high-performance components of the vehicle were optimally matched to one another by the BRABUS engine engineers and electronics technicians in extensive test bench tests and extensive test drives. The perfect harmony between the components not only guarantees maximum power output, but also reliable longevity. MOTUL high-performance lubricants are recommended for the entire drive train. The impressive output of 662 kW / 900 hp at just 6.200 rpm and the maximum torque of 1.250 Nm, available from 2.900 rpm, are unprecedented for a pickup. This torque is electronically limited to 1.050 Nm in the vehicle.

5,2 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h

With this engine, the BRABUS XLP 900 6×6 SUPERBLACK achieves amazing performance for its category: the vehicle sprints from 5,2 to 0 km/h in just 100 seconds. Due to the high vehicle weight, the maximum speed is limited to 210 km/h. The occupants can enjoy this impressive performance in a luxurious interior, handcrafted down to the last detail by the experienced upholsterers from BRABUS. The interior, matching the SUPERBLACK label, is presented in black and carbon. Particularly soft and durable "Mondial Black" leather was used for the upholstery of the seats, door panels, roof pillars, instrument panel and center console.

The precise, triangular quilting on the seats and in the entire footwell bear witness to meticulous craftsmanship. Gray stitching on the side bolsters of the seats and a total of 206 cockpit elements, from switches and speaker covers to the air vents, all colored in shadow gray, set contrasting accents. The founding year of BRABUS, 1977, is represented by the "77" symbol worked into the sun visors and pockets on the backs of the front seats. The headlining is lined with Dinamica microfibre, also in black, of course, and presents the passengers in the back seats with two integrated round instruments that display the current speed and rpm of the supercar.

high-gloss sealed carbon elements

Sporty elements in the cockpit come into their own with high-gloss sealed carbon elements. These include the BRABUS RACE shift paddles on the steering wheel for manual shifting of the automatic transmission and the grab handles in the interior. Carbon door sills with an illuminated BRABUS logo that changes color depending on the ambient lighting are also part of the pickup interior. Aluminum pedal pads and door locking pins, also colored in Shadow Gray, as well as the BRABUS MASTERPIECE badges complement the luxurious interior.
