Chevrolet Corvette C8 engine covers keep the V8 dry!

Very few non-Corvette owners know that washing the current C8 always involves a small engine inspection. The reason is that water can penetrate through the ventilation slots of the engine cover and cause damage. the tuner Fifths Racing took up the issue and came up with a solution. In a recent Facebook post, the company showed off a set of "C8 car wash covers." They fit snugly into the engine cover vents and are designed for the two side vents and the center vent in the center of the cover. At $199 plus shipping, they'll at best protect the V8 under the hood from water damage. While there is noisy Fifths Racing also a variant made of carbon fiber, but the currently installed covers are made of flexible urethane in light blue. Alternatively, orange is also available. The covers are by the way CAN'T intended for use while driving. And they are not designed for automatic car washes either, but according to the tuner's website can only be used in the course of a hand wash. Photo credit: Fifths Racing
