In August 2020, a white Corvette C8 became official Pace car used for the IMSA meeting in Road America and some official pictures showed the additional items on the Vette. The most noticeable feature was in each case two-tone stripes about the hood in black / carbon, there was red rearview mirror, Red Aero accente and the word "Stingray“Was written in white letters on the windshield. And the vehicle had a red one R on the bigger one front splitter. It was pretty clear back then that the pace car with the Stingray R package was equipped. But so far the Stingray R package cannot be found in the official Corvette configurator on the Chevrolet website.

And strangely enough, the red Corvette in Daytona had it on the weekend too not exactly the same graphics like the white C8 in Road America. The white and red Stingray R lettering is still there, but now it is not visible on the front splitter, but on a flap in front of the rear wheels. The one is there again Stripes on the hood but the side mirrors are not red. The hub caps have this seemingly no Corvette Jake logo. Whether the Stingray R package has been revised again since August or whether all the elements are simply not installed on the red Corvette is not yet entirely clear. The photos at least indicate that the package is apparently coming.
