Carlex Design seems to have a particular penchant for "minty makeovers". It wasn't until the beginning of the year that they presented their lavishly redesigned one Mercedes Maybach GLS and now they have upped the ante and presented an impressive Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé (C 167). Put simply, it's a Mint edition that's been thoroughly redesigned both inside and out. The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Mint Edition combines a two-tone look highlighted by a matte black paint job on the upper part of the body and an eye-catching mint shade on the rest of the body. The special color mix is separated by a filigree pinstripe and creates a striking contrast.
Carlex Mercedes GLE Coupe Mint Edition
Carlex Design not only paid attention to the look, but also to the performance. With typical AMG parts all around, the GLE Coupé also gets the popular AMG-inspired look. These include a Panamericana-style grille with the Carlex logo, an aggressive diffuser, a small rear spoiler and the well-known AMG tailpipes. The whole thing is rounded off by concave in-house Carlex rims in rally design with a diameter of 23 inches. At first glance, you might think it's an AMG 63 model, but Carlex emphasizes that it's a "normal" GLE.
And the interior matches the color scheme of the exterior. A soft mint tone meets many black accents. This is where Carlex Design made full use of its expertise: The entire cockpit was re-leathered and decorated with carbon fibers. References to Carlex can be found on the seat backs and headrests, and the company's logo has been placed elsewhere in the interior. However, the magnificent specimen also comes with a corresponding price tag.
for a total of €56.500 for a one-off
The exterior package requires a lead time of 20 days and the interior package another five days, for a total of €56.500 – and these are prices before tax, here we go. If you consider the costs of the conversion, you could also buy a new Mercedes-Benz E-Class or a new GLE SUV instead. But one thing is certain: Anyone who chooses the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Mint Edition makes a statement and receives a unique vehicle that impresses both in terms of design and performance.
