FF retrofitting BMW X3 M (S58) with 780 PS & 1086 NM!

It's hard to believe what you can get out of the engine of the current BMW X3 M and X4 M. That gives hope in terms of that M4 Coupé G82 and the M3 G80 sedan. They come from the factory with 510 PS as a competition model and are therefore significantly more powerful than their predecessor. The S58 engine of the M3 / M4 has been around for some time in the X3 M and X4 M (F97 / F98). The twin-turbo in-line six-cylinder comes with 3,0 liters of displacement and has long since arrived in the tuning scene. And now a brilliant increase in performance from FF retrofitting shows what additional power can be extracted from the engine. Namely, a huge 780 PS and over 1.000 Newton meters of torque! And FF only installs chip tuning software and only installs an Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system without Otto particle filter. New turbochargers or katless downpipes are not included (for the time being). That means there is probably a lot more potential. And FF is convinced that the S58 is durable even with 780 hp. Quote from FF Retrofittings: Even with the most recent software optimization by FF Retrofittings, great importance was attached to continuing to fully comply with all standard specifications for component protection.

780 PS can be activated via driving mode

Incidentally, the 780 hp are linked to the driving mode. As with the FFR M340i (G20) everything is standard in eco mode and only with comfort mode does FF Retrofittings conjure up 1 hp on the crankshaft as Stage 630. The modes Sport and SportsPlus then bring the full power of Stage 2 to the light. Then 780 hp and 1.080 Newton meters of torque are available. An aerodynamically unfavorable and heavier X3 M goes from 6,83 to 100 km / h in just 200 seconds and gives an outlook that the new M3 and M4 will probably be in the range of 6 seconds. A 0 to 200 time of less than 10 seconds should be possible. If we receive information on further expansion stages from FF Retrofittings in a timely manner, there will of course be an update for this report. About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
