Why the hell do you modify a massive Ford F-250 pickup? A vehicle that is already 6,35 meters long and over 2 meters wide in series production as a Super Duty IV Crew Cab. In addition, it is usually equipped with an eight-cylinder turbo diesel that mobilizes 450 hp and an impressive 1267 Nm of torque. On request there is even a 7,3-liter V8 or a variant with a 6,2-liter displacement. And especially the height is remarkable at 2,07 meters and so it is quite complicated to get into the cabin without running boards. Next to this copy from the American tuner Elite Customs Auto Body a standard F-250 looks downright puny. The guys have extensively rebuilt the king-size pickup with platinum equipment and, in particular, raised it extremely. The project was created for the SEMA Auto Show in 2018 and the F-250 is now being sold in the form of an online auction that Mecum Auctions is currently holding in Dallas.

Before someone actually comes up with the idea of ​​bidding, as the F-250 currently stands, it is in no case eligible in Germany. The free-standing wheels alone are an absolute no-go. Not to mention the heavily darkened windows all around or the colored taillights. The project vehicle from the tuning company Elite Customs Auto Body from Sparks in the US state of Nevada has only run 8.241 miles (approx. 13.263 km) so far and is therefore in extremely good condition. The suspension upgrade is of course completely crazy about the conversion. The tuner lifts the F-250 with an Airride air suspension and powerful air tanks including thick compressors to incredible levels 38 Centimeters. But that's not all. Obviously there was also a crazy set of wheels. And one in the format 16 x 28 (!!!) inches. That is 71 centimeters in diameter for the rims alone.

And then there are the off-road tires. They put a few more inches on top and lift the heavy-duty pickup even further. The new setup of the chassis allows a comprehensive view of the lavishly colored light blue suspension and drive parts, which somehow go well with the other visual changes. Because some of the newly installed design elements are pretty difficult a matter of taste as we think. For example the newly designed solid metal bumpers on the front and rear, the unconventionally decorated radiator grille and the numerous LED lights all around. We find the bonnet with power dome less questionable and the powerful sports exhaust system also has its raison d'etre. Inconspicuously installed under the vehicle is a - very popular in America - Compressor horn (Train-Horn) and the loading area have been fully equipped with a powerful sound system.

6,7 liter V8 diesel under the hood

The 6,7-liter V8 diesel mentioned at the beginning does its job under the hood mentioned, which has also been modified and delivers well over 1.000 NM of torque to all four wheels by means of an automatic transmission. And there were also a few changes in the cabin. Here, among other things, a black leather interior with light blue contrasting seams and a few minor changes ensure an extremely luxurious ambience. And finally ... All in all, an unbelievable vehicle that, despite the off-road changes, is not really at home off the beaten track.
