A pair of Mercedes G-Class Cabriolet from 1985, converted into an electric off-roader? This is the latest creation from the Canadian company Trick Factory Customs, called G-Volt Mercedes G-Class. Instead of the combustion engine, one now works Tesla Model S Performance E-Motor under the hood, rebuilt by Revolt Systems. This one does a great job 450 kW (604 PS). What is interesting is that the original drive structure of the G was preserved. The G-Class, a W460, keeps the mechanical lockable axes front and rear, but there is no lockable center differential. In 4WD mode, the power is distributed 50:50 between the axles. The conversion carries in the trunk Tesla batteries and there are plans to install more batteries in the front area.

Unfortunately, the exact battery size and range are not (yet) known. And that Suspension of G-Volt has also undergone a revision. There were doubles shock absorber all around, new Mounting points and other changes. In addition, the steering was done with a JK Jeep Wrangler steering damper equipped. This is particularly important because of the larger wheels and tires - the G-Volt stands up 35×13.5 R20 Toyo Open Country tires. And with the added weight of the electrical components there was also a Brake upgrade necessary.
with Promax brake components
are installed Promax brake components. And in the interior, the G-Volt almost looks like a vehicle of the current era. The convertible roof works perfectly and the cabin has been significantly modernized. Are also installed Mercedes-AMG CLA45 seats and two Touchscreens, which further enhance the modern feel. By the way, the owner of the G-Volt is @mercedesgwagen (the G Collector). He owns a crazy collection of G-Classes, including models from 1992 to 2021, some of which are also tuned.
